JL- I've never heard of that! (I'm still a newb when it comes to diesels/chips/programmers/etc/etc) 
Sounds like a real fail-safe security measure, but.... would that work on my '08? Seems like I remember reading somewhere that the '08s don't use "chips"? Secondly, wouldn't that be considered a programmer and void my warranty (you know Ford's already itchin' to find any excuse to save money)? If it is possible after all, that would be my next line of defense to consider purchasing!

Well, I have now been inducted into the "Theft experience" club- just glad it wasn't more damage than it was!
