Throttle plate

I read an article on removing the throttle plate on the 6.0. WHY< and what deos this gain. The writer removed the t-plate and puy the intake elbow on without the use of the tplate.What does this gain? 2004 f-350 4 t-back banks exhaust, k&n cleaner edge evolution tuner. Alpine head unit and many more extras.

I don't have the throttle plate on my 2004 F-350. I am not sure why Ford put this on some trucks and not others. I don't even know what is supposed to do. I will give you a tip that you might want to look into; get rid of the K&N filter! It does not filter very well. If you look into the intake tract, after the filter, you will see dust in there. There is a sock that is supposed to help, but I know nothing about it. You can use any other filter, including stock which is good for over 400 hp.
