I started my Facebook account so I could keep an eye on the kids..
then I started finding classmates I haven't seen in 30 years...
and relatives I haven't seen in 35...
been interesting, to say the least... and yeah, you do run across one of those "friend collectors" on occasion, just ignore them.. they go away..

plus I can keep track of Bama's allergies and weight loss progress...

the thing that makes me laugh, is every time a new one pops up (MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc) it's always a mad rush to be with the "in crowd"
people have become so fickle...

I think I figured it out. Looks like a good way for thieves and stalkers to know where you are and what you are doing..

You just have to be careful of who you allow as a friend. Like JL said stay away from the "friend collectors" Some peoples whole goal in life is to reach "X" amount of friends on whatever site.
Quite a few pro sports leagues are using twitter to send instant score updates to fans. Not a bad idea.
