Portland Or, Kauai Hi.
So yeah, took it in for brakes and they find a blown head gasket. The truck seemed to be running great, I didn't see a loss in power lately. So what now, How are the redesigned head studs? I guess my question is now that it has happened am I going to have an ongoing problem or is it good that it happened under warrenty with low miles? I don't know, this is my first post and I am just bumbed out.

Oh yeah, sorry I haven't done my bio yet. 03' 250 cc sb and of course 6.0

one would have to ask why they were looking at the head gaskets during a brake job....
could be a GOOD shop....or it could be one looking to bump up the ATP (average ticket price)...
an all too common practice in the industry.

'specially when the customer made no complaint....could be a good shop too that takes
care of its customers (but that, unfortunately, isnt the COMMON PRACTICE)

Everythings better with warranty where the wallets concerned.:sly

assuming you have a shop that 1) can actually TROUBLE SHOOT
and diagnose problems (rather just an one that just rips and replaces
parts til they THINK theyve got it right) and 2) one that will fix it RIGHT
the 1st time.

100 bucks outta pocket seems easy to take when it comes to repairs
but when the truck is in the shop MULTIPLE times because someone
cant actually trouble shoot or diagnose problems (beyond using
a scan tool)....id easily give up more cash and pay the cost of repairs
to have the problem resolved RIGHT the 1st time (cause in the end
as they say you can pay 'em now or pay 'em later).

the cost of doing w/out, plus the time & aggravation of dealing w/
some of these service writers and techs is more "expensive" than
paying cash some times.

Portland Or, Kauai Hi.
Courtesy ford in portland, they have always treated me well. They replaced the turbo about 8 months ago and did a good job. Nice guys and they gave me a loaner for the week even though i'm over 36,000. So I hope the problem gets fixed and I'm not in there for the same thing down the road.
