Ha!! Yeh give it time. They all need break in. My dodge didnt get its best til 20k tho...

I've got about 20k miles on my f-450 dually 2008 6.0L. i try not to drive it much as it has the camper package and towing package and bounces all over the road because of the stiff suspension and has lousy fuel mileage. i regularly tow a 40' trailer up to 17k lbs. when fully loaded so im guessing that the computer is set for the weight. I only get about 7.5mpg towing or not (which most of the 20k miles was towing.) I LOVE my truck though - be great w/ better fuel mileage and no more broken radiators.

Running 70-80 pulling a trailer will never get good miliage out of a truck. Check the milage running 65 unloaded.

I just bought an F250 3.73 extended SB.

Drove back from DC to ATL towing a light weight 16ft enclosed trailer.

Running 70-80 I got 10.5mpg ................ crappy if you ask me !!! from all the 17-20mpg stories I heard, this is pretty bad.

I was a hair away from buying a 2500 Dodge 2008 that I drove and it got a real 17mpg right off the lot.

Also are comparing apples to apples? Ex: same gears, auto or not?

What size tires are you running? And also what highway speed do you drive?

9 mpg towing a 13.5k fifth wheel and 13-14 mpg empty highway.

I've got the same truck. I'm seeing the same with towing; but not hwy empty. How many miles on your truck ?
