Low HPOP pressure should throw a code, but often it will effect other components and other codes appear. Some mechs/techs will go for the easy fix or just throw some parts at it.. based on what you tell them about Money & Time, i.e., A [couple] of Glow plugs.. a [couple] of injectors and the like. Those things SHOULD be replaced as "Sets" of 8. Buyer Beware Stuff.
There are some test that can be done to diagnose the HPOP's condition but the FIRST thing you need is a Reputable Garage to take yer truck to.
Maybe someone on here that lives near you can recommend one ???

quite often fault codes wont get thrown unless the engine is running.
if the engine cant start because the hpop isnt pumping enough oil, the engine controller (ECM) doesnt realize the problem because its still cranking over and waiting for pressure to build. of course its not quite that simple, but thats the general idea.
a properly equipped international or ford diesel shop should have the proper guages to tap into the high pressure oil system and watch the pressure. someone correct me if im wrong, isnt it somewhere around 600psi required to fire the injectors? the pressure goes up to almost 4000psi when you are heavy on the skinny pedal.

I think it's around 400PSI initial pressure. And IIRC, when I had the HPOP on my 03, the tech watched the HPOP pressure on his computer. I want to say it was the WDS, but it's the newer system ford is using.
Well I would think that the "mechanic" would have known to try to see what codes were thrown WITH the motor running, in fact he said he NEVER saw a code and the truck started every time. except for this last time when it was the cps code. The diesel shope also told me the same thing NO CODES. This is going to drive me bananna, as I am in love with this truck, bought her brand new and I am gonna keep her. Just want it F I X E D. I know someone is going to come along and tell me a very reputable place to bring it and I will copy all of your suggestions off of here and they will NOT be offended that I ask them to check EVERYTHING that you all have mentioned. We haul show livestock and we have to DEPEND on this truck. I LOVE it here, this forum, I had posted my first problems with the truck on the "other " forum, then I realized what I had done,and said oh well, I am tired of bitching about this truck, because I had remembered when all the stuff came down about the OTHER forum, and then I could not remember where all the GOOD guys went, so I just accessed this one, and YEAH, I was on the right one and also Oilburners, they are kinda helpy also. i would lean towards ipr rings first, the hpop on the 7.3 is to dependable, its usually a sensor or the o-ring on the hpop lines, and you would know if the hpop lines where leaking by now, it would look like the valdez in your driveway, and all over the under side of the hood and any good tech would see the leak.
and for grins the idm ground on the drivers side fender panel near the air box,
its a sensitive area and if this is a farm truck that see lots of bouncing and beating i would check all the grounds on both fender areas
