Belt issue
YOU JINXED ME!! My dipstick didn't break off in the tube though! It pulled the thing out, broke the T-handle off (found it by the steering box) and had wedged the dipstick behind the A/C compressor pulley. Lucky it didn't ruin anything!! I'm gonna go get a new tensioner. Can't be that much...- Crazy Cowboy

Belt issue
When I got my truck with 38k miles I replaced the belt because it made some minor noise when idling and it eliminated the ticking type noise. 1999 F350 4WD FRT SUSPENSION ISSUES
I had similar issues with mine too. I replaced all the tie-rod ends and drag link which made a huge improvement..... another thing that you MUST check is your leaf spring bushings! I had none left on the rear eyelet of the front springs. That made the truck a living nightmare to drive on 46"...- Crazy Cowboy

I'm ripping into it in the morning, but I spoke to the guy at the ring and pinion company who I was planning on getting gears from and when I gave him the axle code from the tab on the cover bolt tag he said it was a 12 bolt Sterling axle 10.25" with a 3.73 Posi. Ahhh! Broken rear axle!
I have a 12 bolt Sterling 10.25" rear axle which I believe I broke the rear shaft today while 'having fun' :( So... I guess tomorrow I will pull the cover and shaft to see what I broke. for sure. Power Steering hose leak!!
OK, well I got another hose (Advance Auto Parts gives you lifetime replacement at least) and it was easy to remove the second time since I knew how to get at it. While I had it off I felt inside the pump's high pressure hole and the hole inside where the pressure fitting wedges into felt like it...- Crazy Cowboy

Unbelievable!
Anything's possible, or should I say likely! I may wind up having to get a new mail leaf rolled..... :cussing: I'd prefer to put solid bushings in there since the top of the shackle still can flex and so can the spring somewhat. Ahhh... :dunno Yup... stock Excursion bushings don't fit! I'm not sure what lift the springs are from, think it might be Rancho because the shocks are but....? You happen to have a contact or place to order your Skyjacker bushings from? The bushing has to be about 1 1/4" outside diameter to fit in...- Crazy Cowboy

Anyone work at a Ford dealer in FL?
Called Greenway Ford about getting a new key programmed.... had two, lost one and bought a new blank from Ebay. Got it cut and now, since I only have one working key, I have to go to the dealer. Wingfoot tire off Grant St here in Orlando had the bushings for $18 each :) Going to try them and see if they fit this evening. Unbelievable!
My front leaf spring bushings (the rear of the spring hole) are basically nothing but the metal sleeve and the truck's just gotten scary to drive since they totally went to no bushing left. It pulls and wanders so bad that in this monster-truck I know I'm gonna kill some poor guy in another...- Crazy Cowboy

exhaust 4 or 5 inch straight pipe
Just did 5" no-cat with muffler on my Excursion and it's not too much louder than the stock without muffler or cat. It's VERY deep sounding and the turbo sounds like a jet-plane taking off at low RPMs :D I LOVE IT! Not sure the neighbors do in the early morning though!! Can't say if the 4"...- Crazy Cowboy
