    Time for suspension work......

Just got my rig back from the shop after having new balljoints and a track bar replaced. During this visit they tried to get the buisness for the shocks and new sway bar end links. Just a couple quick questions and opinions. First, In the past I have used Monroe gas matics on other vehicles and...

Question A/C not cooling only at cruising speed

The neon green was definately leak tracer, it glowed under UV light. The good news, I cant find any signs of a leak. so if it is, it must be very small to take 14 years to show up. First chance I get I'll add a few ounces and see if I cant get the pressures up.

Question A/C not cooling only at cruising speed

Joe, Tried the wiggle test, all check out o.k. compressor never disengaged. DaveBen: by checked do you mean serviced? if so, to my knowledge, never. This is the first time it's had an issue and has only been in the shop for a water pump and a rebuilt trans. A gauge manifold was hooked up once...

Question A/C not cooling only at cruising speed

Got a question on the A/C system, running it coming from work this afternoon, I was getting warm air out of the vents while on the highway. Once I got into slower stop and go type traffic it started cooling well. Got it home and popped the hood and at idle and lower rpm compressor stays engaged...

    note new tires, which axel

Hi everyone, sorry it took so long to respond, my account was having some issues. Finally bit the bullet, borrowed some cash and replaced all 4, much better ride and drive now. During the changing process, the shop show me I had a cracked rim. I guess that's why it kept leaking air. Thanks...

    note new tires, which axel

Looks like its about time to put on some new tires on the old truck, but have a question. I know it's not the right way to do things, but with cash being tight I can only afford to do 2 right now, so which axel should I put them on front or rear? If it matters my big concern is not slipping and...

Question Just a question out of curisoity

Got a Question for though for anyone interested. A buddy of mine had a truck almost identical to what I have except 6 months newer. Last week it was totaled, broadsided in the rear, wanted to know if I'd like any parts off it. Now to the question, I'm considering pulling the engine and trans for...

LED lighting causes Alt/ Battery issues

It's because of things like DEF, DPF, ECM, IDM, FICM, that some times I wish I had an old 6.9 or 7.3 IDI engine.

LED lighting causes Alt/ Battery issues

"used to be called hookin up 12 volt stuff" Ahh, good old days, when a shade tree mechanic was as good as the grage mechanic. The newer digital electronics have their place, and no one can argue what they have do to improve efficency, but for me they are just too sensitive to dirty power...

    Autoenginuity opinions

Thanks for your input, its much apperciated. I think when the time comes to call them, I'll make sure it can do most if not all what I want and it looks like I might just go with the ford enhanced bundle. No real need to have the chrysler, I don't work on that one much anyway. Now my 7.3l...

LED lighting causes Alt/ Battery issues

Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in about the confusion on lower amp draw vs. higher wattage. Its true that led's draw less amperage at the same voltage. The higher wattage they seem to be refering to is in watts of light emmitted equivelent. For example new led based home light bulbs might...
