    pulling the check valves out of the pump does the same thing as the HPX..adding the HPX gives you 2 more chances for an oil leak...

    it still has to get through the IC before it gets to the heads any way's...them tubes in the IC are not all that big...i would still change the oil right off though..the 38R spools faster and flow's 33% more air then stock and handle up to 40 LB of boost.i see about 200* drop in EGT's with...

    if it was the exhaust side of the turbo the only place the parts can go is out the tail pipe....if it was the composure side it would have to pass though the intercooler then past the screen in the plenums before it could go to the motor...

    i would go with the 38R..faster spool for better take off's and hill climbs...flows 33% more air for better power and cooler EGT's and very hard to make it surge....

    a bad boost leak should not make it idle bad..it should just loose power and smoke..but the bang does sound like one came undone.. IMHO friends don't let friends buy silicone boots..when the silicone softens from oil and/or heat you will need to re tighten..you will need to keep an eye on them...

    you can keep the hubs locked in year round if you want..it wont hurt a thing but your MPG...mine stay locked all winter long unless I'm going on a long trip...you don't want to pull the transfer case in 4x4 on dry black top and take turns..that's when chit breaks..if your going in a strait line...
