HI DOGMAN, That is correct on the DODGE lifetime warranty, It does not cover the diesel or srt gas engine. The thing that bother me with the NEW FORD SUPERDUTY is the fact that you have to remove the cab to work on the engine !!! How many book man-hours is the dealer going to charge for removing and re-installing the cab ????? Most of my trucks and cars have been FORD !!! But I'm not going to let FORD take food out of my son's mouth !!!:dunno

I guess the new trucks were deseigned to be able to do that. I heard it only takes them 2 hours to take and put the cab on the new superdutyies. All in all, I would say it saves them time.

Hello Friends,

I have a 2008 Ford Diesel 6.4 King Ranch Crew Cap LB & it now has 11,000 miles on it. On the computer it tell me I'm getting 22.4 MPG at 60 MPH cruse control no air. I reset three or for times on the highway and still at 20 to 22 MPG. I like the truck a lot. I use amsoil 5-w40 synthetic oil and runs good to me . I all so use power service boost to. The more I drive it the better it does. It's a 4X4 20" wheels.

Yeah, they actually do fairly fine when they are just cruising around at 60mph on flat ground with cruise control on. But once you start having to work the peddle (ie backroads, mountainous roads, ect...), it drops fast.

I would say that once some people are up in the 100K+ mile range, we will see what these things get once broken in.

one thing I found out is if you turn off the overdrive when running the mountain roads the mileage did go up on my 6.0. the trans. was not shifting all the time.

The 6.4 with the 5R110 (I'm pretty sure thats how they are abreviated) dont have a overdrive lockout button like the old 4R100 and what not had. Instead they have a tow haul mod. Now here's what you can do with the tow haul, and it takes some learning. Once up to speed, 60+mph, the torque converter locks up. Now if you let off the throttle, push the tow haul button, the torque converter will stay locked in overdrive down to like 45mph, or like 1200rpm's. Now you cant just put your foot to the floor and expect it to hold, but it will hold overdrive if you slowly accelerate back up to speed, being able to accelerate faster as you get your speed back. This is what I have noticed, and it helps a good deal with fuel economy. It only really works on back road situations, though I can see it working for a congested freeway.
