    Preparing for winter!

2 good batteries = definitely a necessity. I'm guessing mine are kinda old. If I ever leave my truck for more than a day, it won't start and I have to get it jumped. It'll have juice from the batteries, just not enough to start. And it gets less and less when I crank it. (if I can tell it won't...

    Preparing for winter!

SO...I'm sure everyone is preparing for winter? :) Had a pretty basic question, but wanted to run it by ya'll just to make sure. I live in the barracks and there is no place for me to plug my truck in, for the heater. I was wondering if I could just purchase a generator, keep it in the...

    F350 temporarily decommisioned

yeah tony, I'm thinking that's what happened. I band-aid fixed it by zappin a weld bead on it. It actually turned out more like a bunch of tack welds (I'm a lil outta practice) but it should do the either way, I'm looking into replacing my tie rods/center link. About $400 for all the parts...

High Oil pressure after oil change?

Did an oil change today after about 5500 miles. Truck ran kinda rough after immediate start-up (as the oil flowed back into the system) I noted the oil pressure was pretty high. unfortuantely, i didn't get a picture of how high it was. It seemed to run ok (I drove it easy about a mile to...

    F350 temporarily decommisioned

Agreed. Thanks fellas. Looks like a $100-150 fix for the trac bar mount bracket, and a hot minute to get the old one off. Yuck.

    F350 temporarily decommisioned

i think the center link came apart because the weld broke up top. Does that even seem logical? Other way around maybe? :dunno Nice diagram!

    F350 temporarily decommisioned

wow, thanks for the info. I wonder if I can buy that part separately. Also, this might be a dumb question but I'll ask anyway. Could I re-weld it as a cheap fix, to get it operational again? A buddy said he could ARC weld it, and that it'd be a quick fix, and better than MIG. I'm not a welder...

    F350 temporarily decommisioned

Here's a couple other good pics of it. I think this might actually be called the frame crossmember? Someone correct me if I'm mistaken. Either way, mine is busteddddd. Any idea where I could find a replacement one? Google didn't help me much.

    F350 temporarily decommisioned

Hey guys. This is gunna be difficult to explain due to my lack of knowledge about steering components, but I'll try. So... this morning I pulled out of the car wash, and had to go over a small curb to make the turn on the way out. No big deal. I handled it just like any other big bump. I went...

How to upgrade 7.3 fuel system?

Ok, pardon my (newb) question but I'm curious. What gains do we get from upgrading the fuel system? Are we talking HP or just a healthier system? Educate me :)

    Autometer gauges messing up

update: thanks everyone! found the problem..it was simple. My inner rubber door seal had got wedged in a weird way, and with the recent rain, water was slowly trickling down the A-pillar and so the wires got a little wet. I didn't notice any bare wire contact, but I let it air out a bit to...

    Autometer gauges messing up

THANKS FELLAS :D Next question: where would I find the ground wire for it? I've never had to mess with them before, so I dunno :dunno Also, would that have anything to do with the lights behind my speedometer going out? From 90-100MPH isn't illumiated anymore, neither are the 2...

    Autometer gauges messing up

Recently my gauges have been acting up. It doesn't happen every time, but the past few times I've looked at them while driving around, all the gauges have had bogus readings. Not sure if there is a wiring problem, or what. The attached picture shows the gauges after almost an hour of highway...

Is there any resources that tell you what RPM's your truck SHOULD be running at, according to tire size and gear ratio?
