    Should ART Rotors warp?

After getting my stock rotors turned 4 or 5 times in 70k miles, I had to replace them. I went with ART rotors and pads on the fronts (backs were fine) and all has been well, until recently the front brakes have been pulsating again (I'm at 97k right now). Appears its time to get them turned. Can...

    coolant filter????

That's the same type I've got on mine, works like a champ. Easy install, too.

    white smoke/glow plug/injector cycling WTF

Can't help with the white smoke and powerloss, but my truck was just updated with the new injector programming and I was told the exact same thing you were: all 6.0's will get it done to help the injectors run better.

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

I think it's been two weeks since I've gotten it back from Village Ford, and it still runs great. Runs smooth first thing in the morning--but of course I still take it easy because it's a cold engine, but it runs smooth. Runs just like it did when it was new. Sending the letter to the old...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

That's the dealership that I had the problem with ("Perfect service or it's free".....I'm writing the letter to the owner as we speak). I went to Village Ford in Pine Bush, NY and got great service. I've had it back for about two weeks now and it runs great, just like it did when it was new...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

I'm happy to report that the problem is fixed. I found a competant dealership that took the time to properly diagnose and fix the problem (Village Ford, Pine Bush, NY). Their first step was to reprogram the PCM with the new program that cycles the injectors after the truck is shut down to empty...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

Got a call from the dealer today saying that the #4 injector was "lazy" and needed replacing under warranty. To my non-diesel smart mind, this makes sense, but what do you all think? Would a bad injector make it run rough when cold but smooth out when at operating temp?

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

Oooh, ouch. That hurts the ego. New dealer + excuses + voided warranty threat = find somewhere else (in my book, anyway). Problem has been going on for over a year. Very noticeable when I didn't plug it in during the winter, but started to act up during the warm summer months this year. No...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

Of course not! The shop foreman was booked all week long, and had I left my truck there he wouldn't have been able to look at it at all. So my wife went and picked the keys up the same day I talked to him; keys were still in the early bird envelope, so I doubt he did anything with OASIS because...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

Latest update: I brought the truck to a different dealer before I was gone on business for a week. I called and talked to the shop foreman on Monday morning and after a few minutes on the phone, he says that he'll void my warranty because I had an aftermarket air filter on the truck. So I...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

BP and Red, Thanks for the info. I'm going to call a different dealer tomorrow and talk to the service manager, tell him my frustrations with other dealerships and see if he'll make sure I'm taken care of. I'm gone on business next week, so dropping it off this coming Friday will give them...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

Actually I already did that. During this one year process, we moved from Mass to New York. Same type of experiences, though. Next I may try another dealer in this area. What I'm really hoping to find is the mechanic that knows what he's doing, even if it is the "backyard" type of shop. I think...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

Keep in mind that this problem has been going on for about a year, and I just installed the Quadzilla about 3 weeks ago. I did have an SCMT before that, and I had the problem regardless of which power level I was running, to include stock. The truck ran the same cold when I installed the Quad...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

I might consider that if I thought the truck would make it down to Atlanta...:dunno See previous post. The typical course of action for the service techs is to start looking at the truck, see an aftermarket accessory, say that this non-Ford part is causing the problem, and send it back to...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

Using my newly acquired Autoenginuity, I've started keeping a log of DTC's. Here's the latest: P2286 ICP Sensor circuit high (had this since installing Quadzilla) U2016 Signal link short to ground non SCP P0275 Cylinder 5 injector circuit contribution/balance fault (since cleared on own)...

Still running rough, dealership is CLUELESS!!

I'm stumped. And frustrated. After starting the truck up when the engine is cold--regardless of air temperature outside--it runs very rough, almost like it's running on 6 cylinders. No power, either. It does get worse when the temp's are colder, but even during the summer I'd have to let it...

    Is this Turbo Surge?

To answer the warranty question: yes, turbo is covered under 100k warranty, but you pay a $100 deductable after the B2B warranty expires. All four of my turbos have been replaced under warranty (is that a good thing??).

    4 Wheel Drive question

Good point. I've got the lock and autolock hubs, and I neglected to regularly manually engage the hubs (just didn't know I had to) and now the front hub selectors are frozen. 4wd still works, but the tires must roll one revolution before engaging the autolock; quite simply, if I get stuck in...

I've seen this before but never found out how fast this guy (or gal) was really going. Does anyone actually know??

What are the best shocks/ Springs

I second the RS9000X shocks from Rancho. I've had them on about a year and they've done well, the adjustable feature is nice, too.

    Warranty question--not typical one though!

This isn't the typical warranty question. I've had lots of work done on the truck (3 turbos, EGR's, etc) all under warranty and AFTER I've had the aftermarket intake, etc. The CAC hose ruptured causing an air leak above 7psi of turbo boost. Ford wouldn't cover the repair (charged bare...

    Got me a new problem

Or you could tackle it yourself. The EGR is right on top of the engine, easy to get to. If you're not sure of the best way to clean it, some guys here will give you pointers. And if the EGR wasn't your problem, you're no worse off before heading to the dealer.

    ICP plug on Quadzilla module

Actually I just got it fixed. Turns out that the female ICP plug had a small piece of plastic down in it that was preventing the stock ICP plug from seating down all the way. Once I figured that out, I got it to work right away. I must say, Ford didn't leave a whole lot of room to get to the ICP...

    ICP plug on Quadzilla module

I'm currently installing a Quadzilla Xzillerator (110hp module) on my X. It's all done EXCEPT plugging the stock ICP sensor into the dummy ICP port on the Quadzilla (the one used to complete the circuit). The ICP plug on the Quad successfully plugged into the ICP on the truck. Question: are...

    Fried PCM?

I had the PCM go bad on my 03, and I've had the batteries go bad. Both were similar events, but with the batteries, I got a clicking sound. When the PCM was bad, no clicking.
