    Fuel Pressure Check Procedure

I hate to disappoint, but I've just been training so far. This is my first chance to take some time to see my family before the next wave of schools start, so I am back in Texas for a few days. Truck reads 56 psi at idle and easy driving. Above 20 psi of boost in fourth gear fuel pressure...

    Fuel Pressure Check Procedure

Hey all, I have been having some moderate issues that I believe to be related to fuel pressure. I am home for a while on leave and have access to all my old tools, but am still lacking in the PSD knowledge. Where do you tap for a fuel pressure gauge to check for the desired 65-70 PSI?

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Flushed the coolant, installed a 203* thermostat and billet housing, and filled it up with all Ford stuff. The only difference I notice is the oil temperature stays at 200 degrees compared to the 175-180ish it did before.

    CCV Thought

Finally I "installed" the AirWolf aviation air/oil seperator earlier this week. I say installed lightly because I hooked it up but have yet to mount it. Anyways, pictures: I turned around the factory box that mounts on the valve cover and hooked plumbed the whole thing with...

Changing Transmission and Transfer Case Fluid

Does anyone have any helpful hints to make this job easier?

    CCV Thought

Not yet, I've been using my truck time to change bushings.

    Bushing suggestions?

I "finished" installing the bushings today. I say finished without a sense of completion because the Energy Suspension bushings did not fit in my non-stock front leaf springs. I knew the previous owner had lifted the truck, but I never thought to check the bushing size until after I had...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

First I opened the box with new bypass filters. Then I ordered synthetic oil for the transmission, transfer case, and both axles from AMSOIL. That 150,000 mile mark is getting close. Thanks Dane! (MJ Synthetics)

    FYI MJ Racing Response Times

I suppose that is acceptable... as long as we get to see some good race pictures now and then:sweet

    CCV Thought

I've gotten sidetracked as of late, I really need and want to get this installed. You're right, no gyro-stabilized instruments in the rig! My Banks Brake is vacuum actuated though (appears to be anyways, I'm showing my ignorance on this one) and as such there is a vacuum pump under the...

    CCV Thought

Its actually quite large since it is designed for aircraft engines which are often larger than 500 cubic inches in displacement. This is actually one of the few separators capable of returning oil to the crankcase while the engine is still running. Most units cannot suffeciently condense the...

    wheel sizing

Here you go, these descriptions from tirerack.com are great and include a diagram that should clear it right up. Offset and Backspacing: Wheel Tech - Offset Centerbore: Wheel Tech - Centerbore

    CCV Thought

A new approach I am a little disappointed in the Jegs product being nothing more than a shop air/oil separator with a mounting bracket and have given up on that idea. I still want and need a separator (see below) and am no more enthusiastic to spend over 300 dollars on a setup...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Hutch mod. It turned out to be easier to lower the behemoth tank half the distance I needed and lift the truck the other half.

What are you paying for fuel now?

One station here in Pensacola is 2.03, all the others are 2.15. One station has bio-diesel for 2.13.

    Bushing suggestions?

I got my truck back from the body shop today. It sure feels good to finally get all the little dents and dings fixed that I had just been living with for the past few months! Since recently I have moved from base to base to apartment, I currently have very few tools with me and no space to...

    Bushing suggestions?

The complete kit arrived today. Impressive service by Street Side Auto. 194.95 with free shipping that got them to my door 48 hours after I ordered them! Anyone else looking at these kits would do well to order from these guys.

    CCV Thought

Has anyone used a generic air oil separator as a CCV device? Jegs sells such a device for $45 which is very attractive when compared against the commercially availible CCV kits that are over $300. JEGS Air Oil Separator - JEGS

    fuel mileage

I just drove from Virginia to Florida with 800lb in the bed, two bikes in a hitch rack, and a filthy air filter. I was burning around 16.2 MPG driving 65-75 MPH. Since that trip I cleaned and oiled the filter and am back to getting high 17s around town.

    Bushing suggestions?

An '01 four wheel drive F250. Sorry for that, I thought I had that information in my signature. I should have it fixed now. My complete Energy Suspension set should arrive tomorrow and I hope to install it this Saturday. I'll post a review for you guys. Hopefully it quiets my "speed bump...

    Question 203 degrees thermostat

Has anyone experienced the 0.5 to 1 MPG increase DieselSite claims possible? Such an increase in economy seems a little far fetched to me.

    Bushing suggestions?

I looked and looked but could not find any real alternatives other than Energy Suspension products. So, I ordered the complete set. The cheapest I found them was here: StreetSideAuto - Auto Parts, Car Parts, Truck Accessories, Truck Parts, Car Accessories and Performance Parts The red...

    Bushing suggestions?

My track bar bushings are in need of replacement. My first thought was to order some poly ones off the internet, but I've heard that they do not last very long. Any recommendations?

    water - meth injection

Yes. Right again. That makes sense on the pump, but I have a backflow valve I am going to install near the injectors. Yes! It hit me as I was looking at the wiring diagram that the full power for the pump was going through the switch to the controller... no dice.
