    No start, leaking oil

Battery tender came and charged the batteries overnight. After charging I get the same no crank symptom of course. so now back to square one. I have tomorrow and the weekend to figure this out, and after that I'm gonna have to take it somewhere(which i do not want to do!!) because this is my...

    No start, leaking oil

well, I ordered a battery tender 2 bank system. It came down to that or the schumacher, but I liked the thought of being able to charge both batteries at once for the same price. it should be here today and then we will see from there.

    No start, leaking oil

well, I made it back from new zealand and it was awesome. the weather was great and I pretty much toured the entire south island. Good beer in new zealand too. Anyway, came back and after almost a month of my truck sitting, the batteries appear to be drained. I will be picking up a good battery...

    No start, leaking oil

Well, I'm leaving for New Zealand today and this adventure will have to continue when I get back in January. I managed to poke around and locate some more possible oil leak areas(in the daylight this time). When I get back, I will be washing down the motor the best I can to locate the source...

    No start, leaking oil

ok. I followed the passenger side positive cable and it drops straight down from the battery and rides along the frame rail until it hits the starter. no solenoid to be seen except for the one on the starter. maybe my year model is different?

    No start, leaking oil

Ok. thanks big joe. I'll try to locate that and give it a few good taps. If it needs to be replaced, where is the best place to pick one of those up? as far as the spring/gear/shaft you speak of, what exactly are those?

    No start, leaking oil

When you say right fender Dave, are you talking about the driver or passenger side? I assume you mean right side while sitting in the driver's seat and because the starter is on the passenger side, but I just wanted to make sure. I looked but wasnt able to locate the solenoid on the passenger side.

    No start, leaking oil

Now, I jumped under this morning with the new starter and jumped the solenoid. The starter spins, but thats it. I wasnt sure if that would crank or turn over the motor, so I had the ignition turned on so the glow plugs were warm(if they are still working lol!). Does anyone know if jumping the...

    No start, leaking oil

    1. are you saying this could cause a no crank condition, or just the source of my oil leak? 2. I did check my oil and I was two quarts low. That's a first. I changed my oil back in February with Rotella T6 synthetic and check it every other month or so. Last time I checked is was in October and...

    No start, leaking oil

well, here some pics I managed to take tonight. They aren't the best and I'm not sure they will help, but I figured it's worth a shot. Thanks for looking. underside near the starter another-as you can see, the leak doesn't look too bad from down here. the next four are shots from the top of...

    No start, leaking oil

ok. I'm pretty sure the starter was burnt out. I tried to jump the starter across the solenoid and it didn't spin. So, I popped it out and took it up to Orielly's and got a new one. Popped it in and was securing nut to the small ignition wire and the post and all snapped off and was just hanging...

    No start, leaking oil

I will check that out tonight. Tonight is the first chance I have had to look at the truck. Been real busy at work and also prepping to go to new zealand for my brother-in-law's wedding. I did manage to take a look at my starter tonight and there are some signs of oil on and around it, but its...

    No start, leaking oil

Battery terminals are clean as i clean them regularly. Tried starting it in neutral with no luck there either. I used my new code reader and got the code p1389, "glow plug circuit high side, low voltage". What should be my next step? Thanks.

Hey guys, Yesterday my check engine light came on. I didnt think much of it. I had planned on going to pick up one of the craftsman odb2 scan tools today to check it out. Well, my truck wouldnt start this morning. Not even turn over, starter doesnt click, anything(batteries seem fine). I look...

    Question Cold Air Intakes

6673 all the way. Also know as the DIY tymar. Awesome airflow and filtering. Ive had one on my truck since Ive had it and replaced the filter once. Hearing the increased airflow, especially from 45-60mph is awesome. You will notice a very noticeable difference. Riffraff has the best price on it...

    Fog light upgrade

I saw your other post before it was deleted. Halarious by the way. I ended up purchasing a set of tyc OEM style fogs to replace my faded stockers. I wanted to retain my fogs instead of going with driving lights because with me being in the military, I may end up some where with fog in the...
