    fuel filter removal question

Added bonus: same socket as the oil filter cap. So one specialty socket does both. You may be able to get more turn-per-pull on the rail fuel filter by using a Crescent wrench, and flipping the wrench each time to get more distance.

Help Needed 2012 cloth seats still as bad as they used to be?

I'm converting to all leather in two weeks. All seats and center console. Got a decent deal for $850, but if my wife wasn't having hers done, and I weren't military, it would have been upwards of $1400. Maybe look for a local interior guy, Katskinz or whatever other brand you like, and...

    My '05 just passed 133K.

    STC Fittings

I never knew about that part, it's function, or possible issues, but when I had the same procedure as you, my mechanic insisted on replacement for preventive maintenance and longevity.

    Fuel prices

KCMO dropped to $3.30 range two weeks ago. Over a 50 cent drop, and falling.

    Question Egr delete hose

You can't just fix it with generic tubing from an auto parts store. The one end has locking tabs to keep it from blowing off. You'll need to buy the OEM part. About $40 from the places that sell delete kits, and $48 from Ford after tax in my area.

    Found this on another Forum

The underlying problem here is that his co-worker is a dumbass, and is ignorant of his constitutional rights. The sheeple just really don't seem to care anymore about privacy and constitutional rights.

    boost fooler....again

Unregulated boost pressure seems like a very bad idea on an unmodified 6.0. If all the upgrades have been made, maybe, but I'll wait for others to test it first.

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Well, actually two weekends ago. Just haven't been online. Black Onyx head gaskets ARP studs OEM upgraded cooler heads swapped for freshly-decked heads upgraded fuel pressure spring verified upgraded HPOP coupler turbo disassembled and cleaned new gaskets on everything disassembled filters...

Question No Start Condition 05 F-250

The only time I had something similar with my '05 PSD, was when the engine would not hot-start. Had to let it cool down for quite a while (hour or more) before it would start again. But when it did, it ran fine, so not exactly the same issue. My problem was a bad HPOP.

    New EGR Cooler Install

Due to time constraints, I did not. Had to be able to drive it to work again Monday, and that mess alone took me too long. I know it's also bad, and I knew I'd be running on more borrowed time. Next weekend is all set for oil cooler, head gaskets, studs, head work and backflushing everything...

    rant Oh g*d d**m it

When mine rusted out, my mechanic found this out and got peeved. Called someone he knew in the service center and was somehow able to get just the backing plates. So I suppose if you have a trusted mechanic who is in good with someone, they can be had.

    Alternator replacement (6.0 Diesel)

One thing I found out after replacing my EGR cooler is that the belt tensioner was inaccessible for a ratchet - the radiator is damn near flush against it. Just have to muscle the belt up. Not hard if your rage level is high enough from the project...and be careful where you post your feet or...

    Help Needed Intermittent brakes?

I get this same thing. Feels like the ABS is activating and the pedal sinks. A quick lift and re-engage fixes it. Bled the brakes and didn't fix it. Just kind of learned to live with it for now until I'm done with some other projects.

    New EGR Cooler Install

Yes it did. This morning's 50 minute drive was without incident. It's odd, though. Yesterday morning, same drive, temp indicator stayed very low the whole time. On the ride home is when all hell broke loose. This morning, same cool temp, it heated up relatively fast, needle about mid-gauge...

    New EGR Cooler Install

Lesson learned - take the extra 15 minutes in the morning to put the thermostat back in. Puked coolant everywhere on the ride home, and I'm hoping the t-stat was the reason with nothing to slow the flow of coolant. Good to go now after a slight environmental hazard cleanup in the driveway.

    New EGR Cooler Install

OEM cooler was toast. Spy Hunter-style smoke screen as soon as it got hot enough. Looks awesome, but not amusing for anyone else sitting at a city intersection. The vendor I bought from was one of the cheapest, free shipping, and only a $30 core charge. Instructions say it can be done...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Installed Sinister Diesel EGR cooler and coolant flush, replaced with Cat EC-1 ($23/gal concentrate in Kansas City). First time I really ever wrenched on a diesel engine. More detailed write-up in the 6.0 section.

    Another EGR Valve

Thanks for mentioning that, because I've suspected that since I started trying to get more MPG via less-aggressive driving, i.e. lower RPM, 1>3>5 shifting, etc, my problems have started. I'd venture that I haven't broken 2400-2500 RPM since I pulled my household goods here in December. I...

    Another EGR Valve

Yes, it was covered since it was a new replacement in January. Just going to do an aftermarket EGR cooler this month, then an upgraded oil cooler system May-ish.

    Another EGR Valve

So after replacement this morning, I finished the last 15 minutes into work, and only had a few belches of white, to be expected I guess. Sat parked for the 2 hours I was there, then on the ride back I was fine while cruising level. Under any load - up hill or under acceleration, I had no...

note ABS light on - not rear sensor

I also have the mystery ABS light all the time. Thanks for that tidbit. Any difficulties replacing a front sensor in the driveway, or worth paying a shop?

    Another EGR Valve

On the 50-highway-miles into work today, I stopped at the usual truck stop for a fill-up, and barely had enough power to get up and out of the lot. Plenty of white smoke just like the last one that went bad. Luckily this time I was next to a Ford, and the valve was still under warranty...
