What exactly did they fix?

They replaced one of the connector rods....it was just a hair too long, causing the piston to hit the head.

I think my truck has the same issue as yours. You definitely can't hear mine from in the cab though. It's off and on and definitely spiratic. I'm going to take mine to the dealer Monday or Tuesday and hopefully they can figure it out. I need my truck in two weeks to pull two jeeps to the Texas/Arkansas border and back!

Ford (not the dealer) contacted me today and is going to have Internatinal engineers look at it on Monday.
