They pulled the codes yesterday, and all that was there was turbo/wastegate codes related to the hot chip.

Hey, I was intending to remove the bolt holding the harness to the PCM, and discovered it was rather loose...so I tightened it up and will give it a go tomorrow. I'll take the tools to work to remove the chip, and that will be a good test, if she won't start up. Crossing my fingers...Ford_Forgotton said:Yeah, thats what I was meaning, REMOVE the chip, not "set it to stock".

Batteries were disconnected...taking no chances there.Ford_Forgotton said:Just be sure the truck is turned OFF and the key out of the ignition. I have read of ppl FRYING thier computers because of loose chips/harness connections and playing with the connections while the truck was running.
?RazzyB said:how's this for a theory: the struck started fine when it was cold because the harness was tighter into the PCM, and after the truck was driven, the slightly loose harness slightly separated from the PCM, allowing the sporadic and intermittent starting problems, which then 'self corrected' as the truck cooled off again?

Made it to work fine (as has been the norm)...check back @ 3PM PDT, if there's no post, then it means I'm on my way home -popcorn![]()

? I sure hope some of you are deriving some pleasure out of this fiasco!I was gonna remove it if she didn't start up...which she did. I'm gonna take it out tonight when I get home. Of course, that's if I get homeFord_Forgotton said:you removed the chip at work today like you promised right?
RazzyB said:Yeah, after I find the timepoint this evening that she won't start, I'll remove the chip and give it a go.![]()
