hey guys, i was thinking (since my truck doesn't have keyless entry) of getting a keyless entry with an alarm system....then (if possible) purchasing two of the door handles from the back of a crew cab and putting them on my doors.. ext. cab....is this even possible and if so do you think that without the key hole my chances of being broke into are less....thanx

it is entirely do-able...do you have 'lectric locks already ? if not
youll have to install the lock solenoids but thats easy stuff for
most alarm shops.

removing the key (tumbers) wont stop 'em from breaking in...
they OFTEN just pry the factory door handle away any way.

dont mess w/ the keyless entry...it doesnt integrate w/ the
alarm systems...its just a door opener...w/ an alarm if you keyless/keypad
open the truck and DONT disarm the alarm it WILL sound when you
open the door.

the FORD keyless (fob or door mounted key pad) is NOT an alarm...
other than locking/unlocking the door it does NOTHING...i used
mine all the time too but really it was no better than the key fob...the
ford keyless systems really does NOTHING to protect the truck

hell youd be better to leave the truck UNLOCKED w/ the FORD KEYLESS
system...at least then the thieves wouldnt f'up the DOOR when they
take your radio !

ANY aftermarket alarm will come w/ keyfobs anyway...the aftermarket
systems REPLACE the keyless entry (ford system)...and they add
starter kills, horn/siren alert, blinking light, remote lock/unlock, glass
break sensor and they CAN add remote start / keyless idle / shut down,
and paging

I wasn't planning on doing ANYTHING through ford....i just want the keyless remote....i dont' want that keypad thing w/ the numbers a stuff....i just wanna get in the truck without having to put a key in the key hole and turning....as far as the alarm goes i think im going to get a smaller version of the viper you have....i was hoping the alarm and keyless would come on the same device but i don't know....either way i want a keyless entry (I don't have one right now)....and an alram....i think i know what your saying though....and i agree 100%
