Bushpilot,

Forgive my stupid question, but how did you mount the Marinco plug to your truck?

John

its been a while but i either bend a bit of metal and cut a hole in
it or i bought a mount/bracket for the large trailer plug and used it.

Talking about block heaters. I have a 06 F350. When I plug in the heater it pops the GFI. It's a 20 amp. Any ideas of wear to start troubleshooting? Thanks.

I'd start with the GFI and assume that it may be weak. The block heater is 1100 watts so @ 120 volts you are pulling 9.16 amps. If its not the GFI look into the cord for a short.

I'm using an Intermatic grounded outdoor 15 amp timer. It was only $17.99!

yup thats a great timer, rated at 1800w itll handle the load...

if you desire different programing (for the weekends for instance)
you can step up to the digital (7day) unit in my 'block heater'
signature link.

you could even go w/ a REMOTE CONTROL-ABLE set up...
like

the only problem i see w/ a remote-control set up is, unless
you connect some light bulb its difficult to CONFIRM that the block
heater/outlet is actually ON (or off)
