Ordered: 08 finned diff cover

the factory fin'd unit does NOT have a "port" for a temp/probe
like the magtec's....but its more than 200 bucks CHEAPER too...

the magtec's hold a bunch more fluid too...

Hello everyone,does anyone have a part # for the aluminum diff. cover on the 08 that come on the duallys.Would it fit on a 03 dually? I went to the dealer and they didnt have a # and they said it probably wont fit.So i went on the lot to look under a truck and they look the same,but no part#.

I just did the mag-hytec and royal purple in mine also. Just to let you know royal is about $9 a quart moble 1 is $20 and does not have the friction modifier.

start at the BEGINNING of this post and youll find the LINK to a vendor
who has the cover and the NEW <longer> bolts required in a SINGLE
kit.

the Finned cover retails at the dealer for over 60+ bucks...its
available online for 34 (cheapest i could find) but NEITHER of those
prices included the necessary NEW hardware.

I paid 45 bucks for the "kit" they had the item in stock & I had it
in my grubby little hands in 3 days <standard, aka CHEAP, ground shipping>

Hey thanks Bush,I looked into it but they dont stock it .They also told me that it would fit on my 03.I guess the guy at the dealer didnt know what he was taking about or lazy to look it up.Ill just have to keep looking

what truck do you have ? the finned cover/part that i purchased (see
the link in the beginning of this post) fits my 04...and as i understand
it this cover is the SAME for EVERY SRW (single rear wheel) produced
from 99 to current.

DRW's...what gear set do you have...

have to be honest i couldnt imagine why it wouldnt fit a drw...
surely the cases arent different...but again i know next to nothing
about rears <other than a few from my past>

The one that you orderd for your truck which is a 12 bolt does not fit the duallys.It only fits the srw trucks.I have a 10 bolt dana 80 rear end and i belive yours have a sterling.Well thats what i was told.So the one that i need (10 bolt) dieselmanor does not have it.Maybe someone might have a oem # for the 08 cover.

Yep. What bigtrxs said. SRW trucks have the sterling axle, duallys have the dana 80.
