Shimming the fpr?

yea i just never can seem to get better than about 14 in town and 17 on the highway and it just makes me wonder if adding a few more things in like that would make a difference:dunno

I assume you can use a fuel pressure gauge that you can buy from Summit, etc. One that will be permanently installed under hood? Where, exactly do you install it? If there were pics of the gauge installed it would help a good bit to save messing something up.

No need for a permanent installation. There is a shrader valve you can hook a guage up to to check the pressure then unhook the guage and put it back in your toolbox. The pulse and spike that the fuel pressure does will kill about any guage in a short amount of time. Get a good liquid filled guage with a short hose on it and just use it when you want to check pressure, only takes a few seconds to hook it up.

I skipped that generation man!

But I think there is a plug them there 99+ 7.3L guys pull out of the filter housing and thread a guage into.

That is exactly right atleast thats wow I check em made my own fitting to screw into filter housing.

I'm glad this topic came up b/c I have been thinking about if I should do this mod to my truck now it looks like I have all the info needed to do it.

Man, this thread really took off! I'm still not sure where to hook the pressure gauge up at though. If anybody has any pictures of that it would be greatly appreciated. If I can find a gauge tomorrow I will be doing this mod this weekend. Thanks for all the great info guys!
