    Block heater plug?

    I have an early 99 and where the block heater should plug into the oil filter housing is a big plug with a 1/2" ratchet (square) hole. Does this mean I don't have one or the electrical connections are behind that plug? Am I about to make a big oily mess by taking that plug out? Jesse

    Twildman chip and shift hunting?

    It is tc lockup, and I think 35 mph is when he programs it to lockup vs. the stock 45ish mph...but the hunting isn't cool. My tc is a built factorytech as is the accumulator body. The solenoid pack has just been replaced when the trans was rebuilt.

    I bought a used chip from a owner who had it installed in a similar-modded truck to mine. It has a shift-hunting at 34-37 mph at part throttle light/no load, it doesn't do it with the stock tune. Any thoughts Jesse

    So because it showed symptoms and then they went away, you think it's less plausible to be the IDM (I'm assuming mean injector driver module?) Do all trucks have a fuel bowl heater? My truck has all the other cold-weather delete stuff...no EBPV, block heater, AIH, etc.... Jesse

    Ehh, the tc looked to me like it had been replaced prior to me knowing it...cork pan gasket and a bunch of clips broken but who knows, it may have been original. All I know is that I drove it home today and was happy with it:) Nice to have the girl back in the stable. Jesse

    Took it to a trans shop and the scanner tells me what I couldn't figure out...it's not late 1-2, it's skipping 2 and going to 3. So, he told me the sprag for the intermediate drum or the clutches are toast...yay...rebuild...yay. Would order a trans but the bellhousing has been welded...

    Replaced the vb...it fixed everything but the late shifts. Just took the programmer off and unplugged the batteries. Gonna take her for a ride in about 30 minutes. Only one code, 1-2 shift error code happened a week ago one morning when I let it rev a little too high before I let off for it...

I replaced the vb thinking I had a sticking valve that was requiring more line pressure to open...it only changed a veeeery little bit...

It seems as if it isn't sure under increasing accelleration in 3rd/4th gear whether it wants to unlock the converter. Is the tc lockup function also controlled in the accumulator/valvebody or is there...
