2006 AC Issues

I bought a gauge set and hooked it up. Here is what I've got: Max Cold/Engine Idle Low Side : 40-45 High Side: 240-250 AC Off/Engine Idle Low Side: 110-125 High Side: 110-125 Ambient temperature here is in the 90s maybe 100. I turned stuff off and restarted everything and my max cold engine...

    Fuel Tank Hose

Yeah, no reply yet. I went ahead and just replaced it with some fuel line I had. The parts that were there were completely destroyed and the truck was working fine so I'm not sure how important it all is. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Fuel Tank Hose

I cut the rusted out bed off of my 06 F250 and while I was poking around I found this hose coming out of the front of the fuel tank and connecting to a metal pipe in the frame rail. After running along the frame rail it looks like the metal pipe again connects to another section of hose coming...

    '05 F-350 Front end Shimmy

My 2005 F-350 has developed a strong vibration between 55-60mph. Definitely wasn't there before. If I'm turning on the highway like an on-ramp or mix-master at around 60mph I start to get the death shake (death wobble). I've also noticed that my front tires are wearing extremely irregularly...

    DRW to SRW conversion

The front axle is the same for both SRW and DRW right? From what I understand, there is some sort of adapter on the front to use the dually rims on? (may be completely wrong here)

    DRW to SRW conversion

I have a 2005 F350 dually. I am wondering what it would take to get it to SRW. Would I have to replace the rear axle with a different one, or is it simply a matter of wheels and tires. Anyone who's done the swap please shed some light before I get in over my head.

    Under seat Electrical Connection

Thanks for the follow-up. So if the driver's side is the airbag, I'll definitely be leaving that one alone, but the passenger side heated seats...I don't have and will never have heated seats in this truck so does anyone have any idea what the wire / circuit amp rating is? I'd like to use the...

    Heater core inlet / outlet

I am hooking up the hoses for my heater and I was wondering which heater was the inlet and which one was the outlet. 2005 F-350.

    Under seat Electrical Connection

I have a 2005 F-350 XLT. Crew cab, manual seats. Looking under my seats I see these electrical connections: Driver's Side Passenger's Side What are these connections for? Anybody know what amperage the connection/wire is rated for? Anybody know where I can get the male(or female)...

    Max A/C Issues

Airflow is fine in normal. In Max AC the airflow decreases significantly and the temperature of the air is higher, not as cold. I'll take a look at the plenum this afternoon.

    Max A/C Issues

No, it never cools down. Hard to explain, but it feels like it's trying to blow more air but something is getting in the way. Are you referring to the main air filter, or is there a filter for the cab air?

    Max A/C Issues

I normally use the "regular" AC settings, but for two weeks here in Texas we've been North of the 100 degree mark so I flipped it down to Max AC to cool down the cab quicker. Not only does the Max AC blow hotter, it also doesn't blow as much air. I'm thinking something is stuck or broken...

    Alternator

I ended up putting two large rubber washers behind the terminal lug on the back of the alternator. This will hopefully ensure that it never grounds itself again. [/IMG] I cut off the fried boot on my wire and put a new copper lead on it. A few layers of heatshrink tubing over the...

    Alternator

I'll check with alternatorparts.com tomorrow. I think the forum diagnosis sounds pretty much spot on. Thanks Desertstroker, I found what you were talking about with the install kit. The only thing I noticed was that in their pictures, the back of the alternator they are using is covered with...

    Question Keyless entry (door pad)

Keyless Entry Keypad Nonfunctional My 2005 F-350 has the keypad for the keyless entry. Everything was fine until a month or so ago. Now not only does the keypad not work, it doesn't even light up when you press the buttons. Anybody know how to diagnose? I'm thinking maybe a fuse is blown...

    Alternator

I got the voltage from a cigarette lighter plug-in tester I bought the other day. I may not be 100% on the tester, but it confirms what the Autozone tester said as well. I took the alternator into Autozone today and it tested out fine. That means the batteries both tested fine and the...

    Alternator

I pulled the batteries out and had them tested individually, both came back fine. While running, the charging system is putting out 12.22 volts which is not enough. I am going to pull the alternator tomorrow morning and take it up to Autozone to test. Hopefully it is the alternator and I can...

    Alternator

Alternator is not cheap. As noted in the previous posts in this thread, I bought the 160amp 6G replacement unit from Alternatorparts.com. That was less than 4 weeks ago. I've got to assume something else is going wrong here. I took both batteries out and took them up to Autozone again this...

    Alternator

My battery light came on this morning. Now I just replaced my alternator a few weeks ago with a new 160amp unit. I am wondering if it is one of the batteries. I took it by Autozone this morning to get the batteries tested. While still hooked up in the engine the guy said both batteries...

    2005 Heater Problem

Just to show you what I've got going on, from previous posts I've discovered that my heater hose running into and out of the inlets at the firewall has been disconnected and taped off. I have to assume that this is due to some sort of problem (leak) with the heater core that the previous owner...

    Alternator

Truck died on Tuesday. I had it towed in to the local dealership to diagnose. Wednesday I find out that it is a bad alternator. My tow is going to cost me $33, the diagnostic test $35, and the replacement alternator and install would run $380 putting me at $450 for the whole ordeal...

    2005 Heater Problem

Alright, I have isolated the problem through trial and error and it appears I have a bad heater core. Cores don't appear to be too expensive, but what about the install? Is this a total bear to do yourself? I absolutely despise paying double parts rates and install rates to let the dealer do...

    Batteries

How do you guys handle auxilary or back-up battery setups? When using off-road lights, winches, etc. I had an "accessory" battery that I had isolated from the main starting battery so that I would never have a dead engine after an electrical load. My last Jeep had a switch not unlike this one...

    Batteries

My 2005 F-350 is my first diesel in a long line of Jeeps. One thing that struck me was the dual batteries in the engine bay. Are both batteries used in every day driving, or is one set-up as an auxilary? Which battery would you run your winch to? What about upgrades, anything special to...

    2005 Heater Problem

Sorry I left this thread without any resolution, but I got bogged down in other areas. After looking at 4x4grey88's image of the heater valve (the one to the left) I noticed that mine looked distinctly different. The heater hose was separated in half and folded over on itself and taped up...
