    Got the turbo off, the bearings are done. It has a lot of slop, fins rubbing on the housing. While it's off and the truck is down I thought I'd clean the EGR(?) valve. Anything else i should be thinking of?

    Is it normal for a lot of oil to run out of the exhaust when this happens? I've got a large amount coming out, I assume it was released by the turbo. Is this right?

    I'm not surre about anything, lol. However, I'm running #1 diesel and the temp is 0-20F. #1 has always been ok when it is above -20.

    I have autoenginuity and used it todeay. Found code P0611, which is failure to communicate with FICM, I think. No CEL, just turns over, starts for about 2 revs, then dies. Will the turbo being shot prevent the engine from starting?

    I have an 06 SDD CC SB FX$. I want to level it and then out on the biggest tires I can run. I need suggestions, as I can't drive to the tire store to check things out, I have to order and have the items shipped, which is expensive.     I also installed my own and they look factory. Use the write up mentioned by rray. I actually allowed my 11 year old son do the majority of this job and he didn't have any problems, the write up is that good.

    Make sure you've got power to that block heater. I live in Alaska and my trucks starts easy at -40 with the heater plugged in, but it's not gonna start at that temperature without the heater. I know, I've been this route a dozen times in the last 2 years.

    I ran autoenginuity this afternoon and thankfully there are no faults. Hopefully this indicates that there are no computer issues. So I've got the connector under the seat unplugged and it still chimes. I shorted the pins together in an effort to duplicate a fastened seatbelt to no avail.
