ABS light, no speedo, trans light blinking

Still working on this. I was able to check wiring from sensor to plugs under hood and they check out good, I tested with my volt meter for continuity. Another shop that read the computer says computer cannot see the rear speed sensor. So it is wiring somewhere, or I was wondering if it could...

ABS light, no speedo, trans light blinking

As the title says. I replaced the rear abs/speed sensor with no change, then I replaced the front abs sensors and still no change. Truck still drive great, only difference I feel is when coming off of the throttle, there is a hard down shift. Trans was replace several years ago with a BTS...

    What type of fuse

No pump, just a 8w UV light is all this is for. Pump is a separate piece. 120v goes right into this then into the transformer for the light.

    What type of fuse

I am unsuccessful in finding what this type of fuse is. It goes in my UV pond filter. Multimeter showed no current going through and continuity showed it open. Radioshack was also no help. Thanks

    Question steering box

Personally, I would go with a RedHead steering box. It is a bit more in cost, but it is well proven and made my steering feel tighter, no slop. Link

    Question 1999 Transmission Issues

When my 99 did this, the trans was shot. Might just be the torque converter. As for flushing the trans, here is the article I used years ago.

    Slow shifting into reverse

I have a 99.5 that I was able to replace the stock trans with a BTS trans. At the same time I finally put in a DP tuner. All has worked good, and still does. But it seems to be sluggish going into reverse from either drive or park. When stopping to go into reverse, I come to complete stop...

    8' box and trailer hitch

I have a short bed and tow a fifth wheel. The camper has an extended hitch pin so I can almost, on level ground, make a 90* jack knife like turn. I have also broken the rear window so I know the range of limits I need to adhere to. Would a slider take the worry away? Sure, but I know what I...

Ran out of fuel and it only took 18 gal to fill???

I can verify that I have put 30gal in my 28/29 gal tank before. So my questions are, are you sure it was empty and not something else that stopped the motor? Was this also not taking anymore fuel because of the foaming of the fuel and the vent tubes? That's all I have.

    Help Needed four wheel drive

With a switch on the dash, I will guess you have the auto lock hubs. If so, most likely is you have a vacuum leak at the hubs, common problem. Quick check is to manually turn the hubs to lock. The axle is live now but not in 4x4. Go drive and switch to 4x4. This should still engage the...

    Radio Removal ??

If I remember correctly, do not pull with the removal tools. They just unhook the latches that hold the radio. Find something to grab on the radio and pull on that.

    A/C problems....now what?

Just replaced the compressor on mine this past weekend. Bought one of the kits from Rockauto. Went to autozone to rent the gauges, vacuum and other tools needed. Autozone also has some videos to reference for the basics. Only thing I had a hard time finding was a good flush this did not...

    AC compressor shot

I'm actually wondering if there is anything left in it. Each time I went to put a new can for stuff in it, it had no pressure at all. I, thinking it is all bled out. What is a good way to flush the system? Was also wondering if I should change out the condenser and tubing. I figure it would...

Had no AC a few weeks ago so I bought a can of R134a. Whole can and the compressor would cycle on and off, but never on completely or cooling. I did this with a total of three can with same results. Pressure gauge on tool never read over 35 40 lbs. On the last can thought I saw the oil...

    Brake rotors

I was watching Spike this weekends new PowerNation and saw that Toyota has two "screw holes" in their rotors so you can screw the rotors off. Would it be OK if we did the same to our rotors? Truck Tech Here is the show. From 14:50 to 15:15 I can see it causing a little weakness but if...

    Question Trans Temps

I think I read someone said that you want it no hotter than 100* over the ambient temp outside. With the 6.0 cooler and synthetic fluid, I usually run 40-50* cooler than that.

    CB mics

Finally got my cobra 25 repaired. Thought it was something internal that would not let me send. I could hear fine. Took to a cb shop near the local truck stop area and he said it was the mic I was using. I was watching while he hooked it up to the oscilloscope and saw the pattern with my...

After allot of checking and testing I found out the following: Passenger battery is good. 12.63 volts after charge, hydrometer readings almost identical across all six cells. Driver battery bad. 11.6 volts after charge, hydrometer five cells about the same, one cell completely dead...
