08 Tailgate Without The Step?

I saw an 08 F350 King Ranch 4X4 today and I could not see a step in the tailgate. Normally you can see the break in the tailgate cover where the step is in the middle, but the one didn't have it. There was a "hump" in the middle where the step is supposed to be. Is there something different with the KR tailgates or is there a "delete the step" option? Just curious - my inquiring mind wants to know.

you can have it both ways. but i would think a KR would have the step option tailgate.

maybe someone special ordered it without the step.

as an option if you order it that way, its not that bad of a price.



but dont go price one from scratch. gonna cost ya just over a grand.

the list price I was given on just the step machanism alone was over 450.00

im sure...like you say part @ a time is more expensive.
the price i quoted were the add on/option prices when youre
building/buying a NEW truck.

375 is for the step is STILL expensive, imo...'specially when you consider
