yeah, it sounds really good. are u thinking of two or just one sub? rememer, the W1 are the least expensive. they provide good bass, the W3 will blow u away and the W6 will let your friends know your coming down the street from 3-4 blocks away.

the W1 is what is usually on display at the stores i shop at, not all stores carry jl. i see them at the a&b sound.

the JL v2 amps are nothing more than a cosmetic change...logos
and scripting...neither the specs or the prices have changed.

fwiw you can save some coin if you dont need to have "the lastest and greatest"
theres plenty of original slash series amps out there...and deals can be
made on 'em

JL made several new product announcements at CES...i personally
like the wire (sold in red, or blue) which has a removeable color sheeth
(never have to GUESS how much ground/color wire you need again !)

w/ the exception of the new HD amps, most of the amps they
announced are "DIRTY" in my opinion.

of most interest to us will be the newly announced ultra
thin (2.5 inches) subwoofer... i think us "truckers" are gonna make
GOOD use of this....

the TW5 (above is gonna be made available in a 12 & 13.5 inch)...but youll have
to wait til april for pricing and available on the 12...and late summer on the 13.5)

2008+ superduty owners should like this...

it might just be the thing to push some pre-2008 owners over
the edge to install a new center console...

that particular pioneer, has been a viable option, although it does require
a bit more mounting depth (3.25 vs 2.5 inches) and has lower power
rating (350w vs. 500w).

space (behind the seat) in the 2003+ SD's was reduced (due
in part to the folding seat & under-seat tray system)

i am a bit confused by all the different power ratings (of what
seems to be the same speaker) Pioneer USA - Shallow Series

certainly the JL's will be more expensive (not a good thing, necessarily)
and will STILL need a box to be built for 'em...not that the pioneer box
fits "perfectly" in our trucks necessarily...just something to consider.

please explain a little more on how the jl amps are "dirty". i'm confused if u like yours. I want one of those original slash series u suggested, i'm gonna look for a deal on one. unless its dirty.

oh yes, i see what u mean. The THD varies on all of them. i found the clean ones though. THD < .03% and .05% The dirty ones are measured at THD < 1%.
