Gauge questions
Yup, gauges are generally not vehicle specific. One minor exception is the range of the gauges. For instance, the Duramax owners get low (20-40 psi) fuel pressure gauges, while we Powerstroke owners get 100 psi fuel pressure gauges. One significant difference in brands is temperature...- Michael

You've probably figured it out by now, but there's currently a $100 rebate in effect if you buy a Performax set (ESP controller plus 3 gauges). I'd consider an HPOP Pressure gauge. Need for gauges
On my OBS 7.3L I put gauges in before I started mods, and I was amazed that I could get the EGTs into the danger zone. Granted, it was towing, but I was still surprised enough that I would put a pyrometer on any diesel I planned to run. I obviously have a dog in the fight (see my signature)...- Michael

Yup, in my own self-serving way I will also recommend going electrical, specifically ISSPRO EV². It's easier running the wiring (you can easily daisy-chain the power, ground and dimmer wires) compared to running the tubing of a boost gauge. It's also MUCH simpler than running a mechanical fuel...- Michael

Just to clarify on the thermocouple probe failures. Are the failed ones you are seeing the fully encased style (where you can't see the welded thermocouple junction), or the type with the welded wire junction "dangling" in the open? Since ISSPRO changed to the encased style (at least 20 years...- Michael

Where is the best place to mount Pyro Probe?
Definitely install your probe pre-turbo! The 1250° F limits mentioned above are pre-turbo. The temperature difference between Pre- and Post-turbo can vary drastically depending on driving conditions (anywhere from 50°F to 500°F or more). The old wives tales about thermocouple probes...- Michael

How can I make it stop??
A "quick and dirty" improvement is to clamp the leaves together in front of the rearend. It helped my wheelhop but did not eliminate it. I found some ready-made spring clamps (squared-off U-bolt with plate) at the local hardware store. Anyone have a link to the L&L units? Regards...- Michael

HPOP Gauge options!
