    would I be able to see a crack by removing the inspection cover? I don't see any cracks and from the tiny marks from the flywheel to the TC they have not moved independently. could it be inside the TC? I just had this tranny rebuilt 2 years ago... shop whet out of business so no warranty for me.

    still loud clank on shutdown. very random. cannot duplicate at will. checked for loose exhaust or anything else but cannot pinpoint it. sometimes its a light clink and sometimes its very loud. I was able to catch it on video. please advise as this has me very worried...

    just an update... the dash gauge fuse blowing was due to the overdrive button wire rubbing on the frame at the base of the shifter. repaired the exposed wires and re routed it so it will not continue to rub when shifting.

    automatic. it sounds like it is up front in the motor. i had the tranny rebuildt last year. i will have it checked. it is intermittent. i remember it used to make a compression sound like woosh. it never makes that sound anymore. when it clanks it is extreemly loud.

    been noticing it louder than ussual. most of the time when i kill the enging there is a loud clunk as the motor stops. sometimes it is a normal quiet shutdown. any ideas? also my dash fuse keeps blowing after a day or so. i loose rmp, fuel and batt readings. didnt notice anything out of sorts...

    it the smart charger and the battery tender the same thing? i'd like to mount mine permanent and hand the plug by the block heater plug. also, does it matter what battery it is attached to? will it tend both batteries from one or do you need to set up each battery separately?

    i only used gasket. no goop. no leaks. since installing the new thermostat my temp gauge is working. old stat must have been stuck open. in town drives gauge reads 1/4. 7-mph freeway runs almost 1/2 temp. i dont think stat has opened yet. still have not covered radiator to boost temps.

    thermostat is installed correctly. there is no way to install it incorrectly. i will try the cardboard. i dont think it is getting to temp. newer water pump and no play or grinding sound. drove it 3 hours and never got hot enough to open. its average 40-50* lately

    I had a burnt UVCH and gasket a few years ago. replaced the harness, gasket and plugs. then i installed a GP kill toggle switch in the cab. i only power up the plugs for cold starts and then kill the switch. i have had no further issues with my harness, gasket or plugs.

    check the fuel filter. is it dark with oil? pull it up out of the fuel bowl and scrape a filter fin with your fingernail and see if you pick up a gob of oil. if so, your O-rings are leaking.
