How to Service Front Wheel Bearing on 4x4???

I have a vacuum leak somewhere and the auto hubs work intermittently. It really annoys me when I have to get out in the pouring rain or after getting stuck to lock the hubs. Or going on a road trip and forgetting to unlock the hubs. I really need to look for that leak. How often do you guys...

    Leaking Fuel Tank Vent

Yeah I understand the concept just didn't know where the checks in the system were. My vent is under the cab, teed to the fitting on the tank near the front and then a hose goes along the frame to the rear vent. The actual location of the vent is quite low, I bet even stock it would get fuel...

    Leaking Fuel Tank Vent

Okay, so there's a check valve in the elbows that go into the tank? is one of those maybe leaking on me and causing the leak that wasn't there the first while I was harpooned? What part of this is the roll-over prevention portion of the vent, the check in the tank fittings in conjunction with...

    Leaking Fuel Tank Vent

Did you just use the factory vent just on a longer hose? Do you happen to know if it was 7/16" or 1/2" hose?

    Leaking Fuel Tank Vent

I have a leak coming off my fuel tank when it's completely full to the top, like if I fill it up with 31 gallons of diesel. I dropped the tank partially the other day and found it to be leaking near the vent fitting under the cab. I put some hose clamps on the barbs because I figured that's...

    Question Do-Dad Mod

I did a large zoodad mod in my grill support too. I believe I used a 2-1/2 inch hole saw and did 2 holes about 3 inch on center and cut the middle piece out. I didn't notice a mileage change too much, but I idle allot and have varying driving routines, so I wasn't planning on seeing a change...

Regular Unleaded put in my diesel.. help

I routinely fill up when the low fuel light comes on. I would go crazy filling up at 1/4 tank all the time, would spend waaay too much time at the pump and not out on the road. I generally put 29-30 gallons in my tank every fillup. Say I fillup 50 times a year. If i did 24 gallons instead of...

Question switching from diesel to wvo/svo

My red diesel purchases for the last quite a while have all been ULSD too, makes no difference anymore, and I get it by the transport load from the distribution terminals, so if they had anything else, I would rather get that instead....

    Question Center Console

I put an 08 console in my 05. Fits great, tons of room. I did a few mods for add ons to it. I need to post pics sometime, but I will wait till I get my seat covers and then snap some shots.

    Counting steering box splines

I'm a little late to this party, but I've been running a Red Head steering box for two months or so now, quite satisfied, nice and tight, no more death grip on the wheel. My stock box wore out in 70,000 miles. Theres a one year warranty on the Red Head and it's cheaper than factory, go for it!

    Oil Pressure gauge on 6.0

Anybody? Who else is running an Isspro oil pressure gauge? Any issues?

    Another "what tires?" question

I wouldn't run retreads on a 3/4 ton truck. Yes, BFG AT/KO tires are a great tire, I have them on an older pickup. Good highway manners, still has more bite off road than most people need.

Interior Dash Mods (gauges, switches, etc)

Well to each his own I suppose. I'll take the extra floor board room any day.

    Another "what tires?" question

Dayton is a Wal-Mart tire, hence the manners it has.... You probably want to stick with a Load Range E tire, for maximum load capabilities and side sway characteristics. I run the Michelin AT-2's, great tire, quiet on the road, capable off the road. I run a lot of dirt roads, (daily) muddy...

    No start

Just a thought, but my brother's F150 wouldn't start at times with the key, only by jumping the solenoid under the hood. Turned out to be the shifter indactor wasn't showing the computer it was in park, so it wouldn't let it start. Not sure how he fixed it, but that was his problem, if you...

    Steering Slop

The ball joints seem fine, I put it on the lift the other day and wiggled everything around, the only thing I noticed is that the ball joints on the tie rod are easy to turn front to back, but there is no slop in them, and definitely no side to side motion. Also, the movement was clearly...

Looks sharp. Is the lever switch for your air horns? I'm sure that's been discussed before.

Interior Dash Mods (gauges, switches, etc)

Not quite in the same ballpark as just moving some switches around and re-wiring. Sure, lets whack a hole in the floor board, swap out a transfer case, and hook everthing back up!

    Oil Pressure gauge on 6.0

I have an Isspro oil pressure gauge, 0-100 psi range, the electric sender is tied into where the factory oil "switch" is also mounted. Here's my issue. On a regular cold start up the Isspro gauge shows 0 psi for quite a while, maybe 45 mins or so (factory obviously shows okay). Then it will...

Interior Dash Mods (gauges, switches, etc)

I'm digging up an old post here, sorry. Nice work, I have an air pressure and voltage gauge in my quad-pillar, never got the air gauge hooked up yet, but the voltage meter is quite handy. Have you ever gotten any farther on the ESOF mod? Were you planning on moving the factory switch or using...

    Steering Slop

I ordered one from Red Head today. He says they even do quite a few 07's already. Told me a factory box has only one size balls that they throw in there and call it good, they do each box individually and their balls go up in .002 increments, and as such, they have a much tighter box. And...

    Windshield Wipers Possessed

On a 99 F150 we have it did it all the freaking time. Very annoying, especially when it smeared mud and such all over the dang window. My brother took it apart and determined it to be the multifunction switch, but we just put a toggle switch in after the fuse and turn that toggle on when we...

    Question Grease

I think what you are referring to that some others tried to answer but didn't understand the question is that with black grease you can't tell if you've purged all the old grease out when greasing because the color doesn't change. That's why many people prefer a red grease. I use a red...
