    Why Cummins conversion????

Just my 2 cents, but if my truck blew it cookies, I'd consider a DT466. The thing that draws people to the Cummins is how much power you can get per dollar. They are the small block Chevy of the diesel truck world.

    Track Bar Bushings

Not sure about the differences, but I do know there is a one piece cast track bar and there is a welded style track bar. My truck has the welded style, but A friend has a '99 with the cast style track bar. Not sure if his is an early or late truck. Hope this helps out some. :dunno

    Coolant service intervals

The owners manual states that the original coolant fill is good for 100,000 miles, then to service the cooling system every 50,000 miles. I just did the 100,000 flush and refill a little over 2 years ago, and now I'm getting close to the 150,000 mile mark. Every 50,000 seems a little excessive...

    DT466 Super Duty

Has anyone ever actually seen a DT466 in a Super Duty? I've seen sone on the web, but never one in person. How awesome would it be to show up at a truck pull and put about 50 feet on a dodge! We use a 466 in our pulling tractor and it's making about 800 Hp. And these motors can be punched...

    Dieselsite fuel pressure regulator question

About a year ago I installed an adjustable fuel pressure regulator from Dieselsite. Been noticing lately that the fuel pressure doesn't seem to drop off when you shut the engine off. Tonight I was under the hood checking things over and I thought I would investigate. Fuel pressure is set to...

Your opinions on best places to get performance diesel parts?

I really like dealing with Bob Riley at Dieselsite.com. I've never had a problem with them and even had Bob call me once to verify an order. That's what I call service. :sweet

    Replace bed or repair?

I deff. want the spray in liner. Maybe have the underside sprayed to? We have both a Rhino liner dealer and a LineX dealer locally. Any opinions on either? Seen a tailgate once that had the LineX on it that had a telephone pole land on it. Tailgate was destroyed, but the liner was still...

    Replace bed or repair?

I was thinking of getting the liner before for the same reasons. I've seen the DIY stuff already, and if the bed isn't properly prepped, it peels off. Now all I have to do is wait for the shop to call and say they have a bed for me. 2002 with a 2010 box, sounds like I'll have an even rarer...

    Replace bed or repair?

Calling and putting my name on a bed tomorrow. Also got an estimate of $3,000-$3,500 to repaint the entire truck. I love this color red, but boy is it expensive. Would you get the bed liner sprayed in before painting or after?

    Replace bed or repair?

I have some rust starting to peek through on the rear fenders around the wheel wells and the channels running crossways under the bed are rusting out to the point I can see rust forming in the bed from them. Would you guys repair the bed or jusat replace it? There is a place here local that...

    grease fitting locations

My new ball loints, that were installed by a Ford dealer, have grease fittings in them. Uppers require a 90* adapter to grease them.

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Changed the engine oil and filter as well as the fuel filter.

    CCV Modification for 7.3L

All engines need to have a CCV (crank case vent) to keep the inside of the engine from over pressurizing. On our engines from the factory, the ccv is routed into the air intake so the oil vapors will be burned up during combustion. Only problem is the ccv is routed into the intake before the...

    Cold air intake

Well said BIG JOE. Cooler air is more dense and there by contains more O2 atoms per given volume than the same volume of warm air. :dizzy I personally have the 6637 homemade tymar filter on my truck. Filters better than an oiled filter, and was cheaper than an intake kit. I like it, but...

    inline pump???when did this happen?

Hypermax makes a Compacted Graphite Iron block and it sells for $10,000. I did see the machanical fuel system was sold as parts or a complete engine. Not sure how much parts would cost, but I'm sure the engine is over 10 grand. New front cover, heads, valve covers, pump, and lines. I'm sure...

    inline pump???when did this happen?

I'd bet it's more than that. The CGI block they have is 10 grand.

    Dual needle gauges?

Thans for the input guys. A seperate gauge for boost and EGT would be fine. We just need a way to know what the highest reading going down the track was. We are running a completly different set-up this year. Bigger turbo, intercooler, new gearing, and new water injection system. Somewhere...

    Dual needle gauges?

Has anyone ever seen boost and egt gauges with two needles? What I mean is one needle that works like normal, and one that shows the highest point the needle reached. I would really like to find something like this for my buddys pulling tractor because a data logger is really expensive. Going...

    Rear sway bar?

My truck has 140,000 miles on it, about 7,500 on the new bushings. RSG, I didn't see that on their site, but it's good to know. :sweet I used a synthetic grease on mine when I installed them.

    Rear sway bar?

I have a rear sway bar on my 2002, but I can not say it was a factory installed option. I got the truck used. I replaced all my bushings with the Energy Suspension kit. Plan on a whole day and having a press to use if you get the complete kit. And use alot of the lube they provide...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Rplaced the alternator, twice. Original would not charge below 2000 rpm's. First one I replaced it with would not charge at all. Second one works like a champ.
