I am with ya'll on this. There is some BS going on. My dad has a Dodge and I bought him a Bullydog Programmer for his B-day. Now he doesn't get 27 MPG but I know that with the C/C set and going down the highway he got 22 - 24 MPG. But don't know if he is still getting that. That was when the truck was new. I believe he is still getting 19 -20. Still make fun of him, even when I black him out. :roflmao :roflmao I know in my truck I am AVG 18.7 but with a 29 gal tank I am running but about 560 miles to a tank. :thumbs

Even with my Hypertech backed down to setting #1 (mileage) I barley get 400 miles on a 29 gal. tankful. I try to take it as easy as I can these days at $3.30 a gallon. I never dreamed the day would come when my Cj-7 that I stuffed a 360 into would be cheaper to drive than a diesel F-250.

Ditch the Hypertech.....I get 300-375 miles per half tank(39g) depending on percentage of highway miles.

I avg about 21mpg highway at 65-70mph....dad's '03 common rail Dawdge that's bone stock gets 25mpg with him driving 60mph. I get that down to around 23.:sly

A guy over at TDS a while back said he was getting something like 26mpg with a 7.3 Superduty. But he had a F-250 reg cab 2wd (can you say lightweight?) with a 6 spd handshaker. He also had changed his rear axle ratio to something like a 3.23. He had also installed some sort of tonneau cover to help with aerodynamics over the bed. 26 mpg sounds a little boastful, but if it were do-able at all, he had the set-up for it.

Dave Whitmer...I believe it's 3.05 gears. Also I think it's a SC like mine but lowered with skinnier tires for less rolling resistance.

Someone once asked him why he's done all he has instead of just buying a Honda....his response was that his body didn't fit in a compact too well.

I do Believe he is seeing that ..... on his overhead display, as the computer does not know how to do the math any more with his chip/programming mods... so it is possible he telling you half the truth.

Not only that but dodge 4x4's drag their front axles around everywhere they go. They dont have the luxury of lockable hubs so i know he's lying driving around with 37's.
