if its free, take it and look at it close.. no tellin how much work you would want to tackle, but I recomend just gettin' a OBS down pipe..
Oh.. I forgot to mention that the super doodies firewall is further back than ours so you would have to modify the cobra head as well.
I have a 4" SD downpipe on my truck and honestly, I think the SD engine sits just a bit higher than the OBS engines relative to the trans crossmember. I have clearance issues there.
I will be pulling the pipe here in a while and shortening it about 1 inch so that it clears the crossmember...
I am not saying this is your problem, but when my truck started to act flakey and run sometimes and not others, after checking everything I could find, it turned out to be my PCM. See if you can borrow someones or get one from a wrecking yard to test it with.
I thought I would post this for those that are interested.
This mod is for those of us with 1994 and 1995 strokes that want to install a new SD HPOP. Most of us that have done this have experienced HPOP reservoir drain back issues that result in hard starts after 2 or more days. One way to...
First, the number painted on my springs are 3C34-5310-ADA. These are for a F350 'V' code, which will ride as basically flat springs. The 'X' code ride with a noticable arch, so you will get additional lift, and are stiffer.
With the Sky RSK, and the 'V' code springs I am told it will total...
I am doing the exact thing right now. I have a Sky RSK on order, and already have the SD springs. I got them new from Ford and specified 2004, diesel V codes. I have the part number around here somewhere. I can go look tomorrow at the springs and see if they have the same numbers.
Here is...
That REALLY sounds like lack of fuel. If you can, put a fuel pressure gauge on it and take it for a drive.. plug it into the shrader (sp?) valve fitting
If you got the fuel filter and the screen on the shrader valve, then that leaves only a few things. Fuel pump, in-tank fuel screen, or...
Absolutely correct!!
I ran a set of those 36" tires for oh, maybe 30 days and took em off and sold them for way less than I paid. The bias ply tires would flat spot something terrible in the front, and I popped the bead off them twice doing just mild 4-wheeling.
Ended up putting my old 33...
What year is the new truck? you have a 95 listed so I was not sure if that is the one you are talking about. only reason I ask is you will run into HPOP leakdown issues with a 95 engine and a later model HPOP. I have a nice solution to this that Rich and I worked out. Have 3000 miles on the...
I seem to recall hearing somewhere that the SuperDoodie IDM (XC3Z-12B599-AA) were an upgrade to the older versions (F7TZ-12B599-AC).
Anyone remember the specifics? I thought I heard somewhere that they had a slightly higher voltage output..
I just picked up a SD IDM because I think I am...
You using the solid D50? those were only available for like 1 or 2 years.. That is a Super Dootie front end. I believe there are issues with bolt pattern 6.5" x 8 (OBS) versus 170mm x 8 (SD) so be carefull there. Might want to get the rear axle as well and upgrade to the SD bolt pattern.
I...
Also, on our trucks it is pretty hard to get the caster and camber off, so toe is the only thing that is likely in need of alignment. Toe is SUPER easy to adjust. You can do it with your partner, a tape measure and a couple of wrenches.
Just make the front of the tire about 1/4" - 3/8" less...
