super duty downpipe on my '95??

if its free, take it and look at it close.. no tellin how much work you would want to tackle, but I recomend just gettin' a OBS down pipe.. Oh.. I forgot to mention that the super doodies firewall is further back than ours so you would have to modify the cobra head as well.

super duty downpipe on my '95??

I have a 4" SD downpipe on my truck and honestly, I think the SD engine sits just a bit higher than the OBS engines relative to the trans crossmember. I have clearance issues there. I will be pulling the pipe here in a while and shortening it about 1 inch so that it clears the crossmember...

    Calling all 7.3 techs/specialists got a test

I am not saying this is your problem, but when my truck started to act flakey and run sometimes and not others, after checking everything I could find, it turned out to be my PCM. See if you can borrow someones or get one from a wrecking yard to test it with.

modifying 94-95 timing cover for 96-up HPOP

Yep working great for me too. I have let the truck sit as long as a month and it starts up just great on the first turn of the key.

1995 timing cover mod to work with newer HPOP without drainback issues

I thought I would post this for those that are interested. This mod is for those of us with 1994 and 1995 strokes that want to install a new SD HPOP. Most of us that have done this have experienced HPOP reservoir drain back issues that result in hard starts after 2 or more days. One way to...

Super Duty Springs in my ‘95?

First, the number painted on my springs are 3C34-5310-ADA. These are for a F350 'V' code, which will ride as basically flat springs. The 'X' code ride with a noticable arch, so you will get additional lift, and are stiffer. With the Sky RSK, and the 'V' code springs I am told it will total...

Super Duty Springs in my ‘95?

I am doing the exact thing right now. I have a Sky RSK on order, and already have the SD springs. I got them new from Ford and specified 2004, diesel V codes. I have the part number around here somewhere. I can go look tomorrow at the springs and see if they have the same numbers. Here is...

    Cutting out above 2500 rpm

That REALLY sounds like lack of fuel. If you can, put a fuel pressure gauge on it and take it for a drive.. plug it into the shrader (sp?) valve fitting If you got the fuel filter and the screen on the shrader valve, then that leaves only a few things. Fuel pump, in-tank fuel screen, or...

Military Hummer tires & wheels $50.00

Absolutely correct!! I ran a set of those 36" tires for oh, maybe 30 days and took em off and sold them for way less than I paid. The bias ply tires would flat spot something terrible in the front, and I popped the bead off them twice doing just mild 4-wheeling. Ended up putting my old 33...

    New to me PSD...

What year is the new truck? you have a 95 listed so I was not sure if that is the one you are talking about. only reason I ask is you will run into HPOP leakdown issues with a 95 engine and a later model HPOP. I have a nice solution to this that Rich and I worked out. Have 3000 miles on the...

    IDM versions..

I seem to recall hearing somewhere that the SuperDoodie IDM (XC3Z-12B599-AA) were an upgrade to the older versions (F7TZ-12B599-AC). Anyone remember the specifics? I thought I heard somewhere that they had a slightly higher voltage output.. I just picked up a SD IDM because I think I am...

    I want 4wd

You using the solid D50? those were only available for like 1 or 2 years.. That is a Super Dootie front end. I believe there are issues with bolt pattern 6.5" x 8 (OBS) versus 170mm x 8 (SD) so be carefull there. Might want to get the rear axle as well and upgrade to the SD bolt pattern. I...

    wheel alignment ?

Also, on our trucks it is pretty hard to get the caster and camber off, so toe is the only thing that is likely in need of alignment. Toe is SUPER easy to adjust. You can do it with your partner, a tape measure and a couple of wrenches. Just make the front of the tire about 1/4" - 3/8" less...

    wheel alignment ?

There is nothing to adjust in the rear so technically, no you can not do a 4 wheel alignment. A normal 2 wheel alignment is to just set the toe, caster and camber on the front wheels. Basically, if the front and rear are out of alignment relative to each other, the truck will 'crab walk'...

modifying 94-95 timing cover for 96-up HPOP

I think my HPOP gasket surface is not flat. I tried putting a thin layer of rtv on the gasket, and it oozed out everywhere but where the leak is. I guess I will have to take the pump down to have it machined flat. I am fairly certain that the timing cover is flat. That is a machined...

modifying 94-95 timing cover for 96-up HPOP

Made it back in one piece. I put on almost 2000 miles on the truck and as I said before, only problem I had was that darn oil leak. I will be trying to fix that in a few weeks, but I have other things that have to get done first. I put a bunch of pics of the mod on my site here...

modifying 94-95 timing cover for 96-up HPOP

Well, I made it to San Jose without any incident. Truck is running fine.. It just leaks from the HPOP gasket. -mad It leaked before I did this mod when I first installed the SD HPOP with the later gasket, and went away once I put the early gasket in, so I guess I should not be surprised that...

modifying 94-95 timing cover for 96-up HPOP

Got it fixed. I went ahead and heli-coiled both bolts just in case.. that was interesting. I had to find a short drill, that was narrow as well, and then cut down the drill bit by over 1" Got it all in and snug. I think one of the problems is I need to tighten down the center bolt first...

modifying 94-95 timing cover for 96-up HPOP

well :censored:!! I stripped the HPOP mounting bolt. I had the same leak I always get when I run the new 3 hole gasket. Thought I would check the torque, and loosened them so that I could get a good reading. Center bolt tightened fine, the outside one is shot. I guess I will be taking...

Arghh... I thought I had the 3 hole gasket. Called around and found Northside Ford, they have a parts dept open to 11:30 PM! cool.. off to get the darn gasket. Other than that, I am all done. I think I may just stay up and get it finished... Updates to follow.. Chris

    it's about clutch time

I have a custom LuK kevlar clutch and it is SWEET. nice smooth engagement, not grabby at all, in fact like stock engagement. About 1/3 less pedel effort too. I can bang it into gear on the freeway with engine at 3000 RPM and throttle pinned and it will not slip one bit; drops right down to...
