Hey guys, today around 10 am i drive through about 36 inches of water while scoping out an area for a military exercise here in Italy. 4x4 grinding -and winter is coming!

My vacuum lines looked fine. and the fact that my driver's side hub engages from the in-cab switch, I'm guessing the solenoid valve and vacuum pump are working correctly. So, I'm ordering all the items to service my hubs using Guzzle's how-to for the needle bearing lubrication and the front...

    power steering pump replacement?

Picked up a P/S pump, both high pressure lines, and pulley removal tool from Napa today all for under $200 including the core charge. I really wanted to go motorcraft, but couldnt bring myself to spend $600 for parts. Plus I read good reviews about the napa one and it is supposedly quieter than...

    power steering pump replacement?

So are you suggesting I just repeat the flush procedure again? That sounds very similar to what I did to flush it. And on the coolant filter, do you mean the cooling filter like dieselsite or sinister diesel has? do you happen to know that the one on amazon is called?

So, most of you probably know by now, I am moving to Germany in January and taking my truck. well, had the alternator rebuilt and installed. Everything seems to be running smooth now. Batts are charging like they should. I bought the extra regulator control board in case mine takes a crap in Germany. He said after beefing mine up, it tested at 170 amps. $200 for everything. Even painted...

    Alternator replacement

well, I called a reputable shop alternator shop today and they want $165 to rebuild mine. That also includes: a larger stator, heavy duty diodes and voltage regulator. They said it should be rated at about 180 amps after they are through with it. So, with that said, I will be having mine...

So my alternator is going south and I plan on replacing it with a motorcraft one, but first wanted to ask if there are any other highly recomended brands or options. A/C problems....now what?

Thanks for the info Dan. If I go the route you did, that will for sure come in handy. After talking to the guy here on base at the Auto hobby shop, and learning a bit about the basics of an A/C system, the option of just replacing my clutch and coil is making more sense to me.
