    Question Steering question

Sounds good...My next question would have been how long does it take to wear in.

    Question Steering question

I just replaced both the steering box and pump. Do I need to fine tune the steering box? It seems a little stiff like there's a detent you have to push out of when you're going straight. It also doesn't want to "come" back to center easily. It does but not like it used to. Is the steering box...

    Motor cycle + running boards = 0

The kid that hit us is fine. Full leathers saved his butt. He was slowing down to make the right when his front tire washed out, he went down and slid under the drivers door. It actually spun the bike around so it was facing forward again. Took three of us to pull it out. The running board kept...

    Motor cycle + running boards = 0

I need another pair of factory boards. I was sitting in a left turn lane and the next thing I knew I had crotch rocket parked under the drivers door. I looked over just in time to watch him drop it down and slide under. The truck is high enough that there wasn't any damage to it, just the...

    Seat foam

Has anyone replaced their seat cushion and springs? Mine are shot and I've already done the seat "mod". I'd like to stay away from the dealer If I could but... Thanks Ron

    In the shop

Out of the shop with a new CPS and fuel pump. After I read how to the change out the fuel pump, I decided as long as they had it they could do it. Looked like way too much for me to handle...I still need to change out the orange intake boots, radiator hoses and the other little things. It's time...

    In the shop

That was pretty stupid wasn't it ...Talked to the dealer and there seems to be a couple of things up, 1) changed the CPS out (hence the stupid remark statement. Guess I don't know after all). 2) EBV sensor was bad. 3) the ebv? tube was/is plugged 4) MAP sensor issue. 5) fuel pump...

    In the shop

Not this time. I've had the CPS take a dump a couple of times now and I know the difference. I wish it was...It threw an IPR code the other day and I think it has something to do with it.

    In the shop

Well on the way home tonight it started ramping up the idle to 800/900 then falling down to 200/300 and crapped out. It would start up right away and run for a couple of miles OK then it did it again. :dunno So I drive past Horizon Ford every night and because I can't push it out of traffic...

    Couple of codes

Yeow...I'll pass on the IPR for now...it's running fine. You can tell by the number of times I hit the site with questions that I have little to no issues. As always thanks for the comments and help :thumbs Ron

    Rear brake shoes

Did a service yesterday and found out the shoes are 3" and at 204k they still have some miles left.

    Couple of codes

Starts great hot or cold, no problems. We haven't changed the IPR, but is it the unit you can change the O rings in? If it is we did that a while back. Normally it runs like jake the bear. Like today it's running normal. It was just that little hickup the other day. Maybe I should look into...

    Couple of codes

Friday the RPM shot up and then dropped a couple of times which put me in panic mode considering I was in the middle of rush hour traffic and the check engine light came on. We did the 204k service this morning and pulled a couple of codes. P1211 ICP pressure above/below desired and P0236...

    Instrument Cluster

I know when I went through "tranny" problems that weren't tranny problems we (the tranny guy and I) started on the VSS module on the rear axle housing. Pull it and clean it. If it's covered in filings then you may want to change out the rear gear lub. My tranny would bang 2nd real hard then...

    Rear brake shoes

I'm on new mission so... :) While I was picking up my diff cover (without the bolt kit) I priced out rear shoes and was asked what size. I didn't realize there were two sizes of rear brakes, 2.5" and 3". Other than the obvious of measuring them out, is there another way of telling what would be...

    SD aluminum diff cover

Too late. I already have the cover. What chaps my hide is that I was looking for that link a month or so back. I knew there was a kit with the bolts out there. Oh well, you wouldn't know how long they are do you...wonder if they'd sell just the bolts?

    brake light on dash

Thanks for the suggestions. It's having a service this weekend so I'll have to chance to check them out. I know I'm getting close for rear brakes with 203k on the original shoes.

    Fogging mirrors

I was going to head to my nearest KW/Peterbilt parts counter. When I worked for Paccar we stocked the loose elements so I figured I'd stop in and see if they could still get them.
