    Air Conditioning on 6.0 E350

Thought I'd put an update out here for later -- Compressor was shot -- huge hole in side... Requires replacement of compressor, condenser, expansion valve, orifice and complete flush. Shop quoted $2200 to fix. I'll be able to fix the whole thing under $1000... I ordered the factory service...

    Air Conditioning on 6.0 E350

Well -- I've got a small update to my request -- started dis-assembly, and found the condenser is (at least one) culprit. Trying to remove it -- got the two bolts holding it to the intercooler, the ones holding the fittings on the pass side, but can't seem to get it to pull up. It appears to...

    Air Conditioning on 6.0 E350

We purchased a new to us 2005 E350 Extended van has a 6.0 in it. I've got a leak somewhere in the AC system -- tried charging but immediately discharged. I'm sure there's a huge leak, but not sure at this point where it might be. Does anyone have a diagram of the entire AC system for a van...

    Electric Fuel on OBS

I don't have a write-up, but I've done it. Pretty easy, really. I already had replaced fuel lines when I did a SVO conversion a few years ago that made it a bit easier for me. I used this fellow's page as a guide.. Tims I/C Page example One thing I'll point out -- originally, I purchased...

Oil leak at the bell housing

I had that one time and the top of the inspection cover had rubbed a hole in the oil pan... could check that, too..

    Diesel Leak

I would think it would suffice like you've got it. Be sure to not overtighten the valve into the regulator, those regulators are easy to crack...

    Diesel Leak

That's a regular schrader valve on your regulator -- it should have a valve stem in it. I wouldn't trust the cap to hold the fuel in for long. I'm not sure if you could rig up something with an off-the-shelf valve or if you'd need to replace the whole regulator... Are you in TX? I've got...

Axle Swap - 02 to OBS

Wondering if I can swap rear axles from a superduty to an OBS truck... I think the bolt pattern is different for the rims, but other than that, is there anything to watch out for? Just looking to get the gearing of the superduty instead of the 4.11's I've got now. Would it be easier/better...

    Fuel pump

Extra oil should not go to fuel system -- how long ago did you replace the injector o-rings? The most common fuel leak that MIGHT end up showing towards the bottom of the bowl would be the orings that seal up the drain. I can imagine if those are leaking (just a little) that it might run down...

    Fuel pump

I've replaced mine about 4 or 5 times -- I've used the Airtex (may be why I've replaced it so many times!) When the pump itself leaks, there's a weep hole on the passenger side right above where it enters the block. You'll want to clean the area well and maybe you can see it leaking. I also...

    Where to buy Injectors?

I'm ordering from Beans -- they've got stock and modified, but their reputation is what did it for me. Price was very competitive with others I've seen and have been so far pleased with their service. Beans Diesel Performance: Diesel Performance and Custom Tuning

    Injector removal with pics

Something else you can try (has worked for me several times and am going to do this again this weekend)... Take off your valve covers -- leave everything else intact. Run without the covers and take note of the oil spouts on each injector. This will show you if one's not firing. In my case...

    AC Compressor Troubleshooting

It engaged just that once, smoked, and won't engage any longer.... Roy, which terminals, the ones on the front or back?

    AC Compressor Troubleshooting

Need some help here..looked around but not sure what to do now. Two years ago, I had to replace and electrical connector on the AC compressor, it was shorting out and would work after you wiggled it. Replaced it, everything good. Fast forward until a few months ago...same symptoms, pulled...

    Question Laptop mounts

I've got one, but it's a homemade job.... It's in my gallery here: http://www.superdutydiesel.com/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=477 Since the pictures, I removed the fittings above the horizontal pipe & elbow, it makes it sit down much lower so it can't be seen from outside when you're...

    Power Steering Hose Explosion

I'll bet that anything with a regular 90* fitting instead of that slip-nut the stocker has on it will work better. I think they engineered it like that to damper the vibrations, and after a while it vibrates loose. I think a 90 degree fitting out of the pump to a length of hose to the cooler...

    Question Oil leak??

Pretty easy. I pulled my fuel housing & it was really easy to get to it, but I'm not sure if you have to or not. Probably take a couple of hours....

    Question Oil leak??

That's certainly a good place to start. I had a leaking oring, but didn't realize the slowly degrading state of the smoothness to my engine. Oh, what a difference a new one makes. If you've got an international dealer close, you can get a much better price on o-rings...

    Question Oil leak??

Is the hose leaking, or the connection to the pump/block? If it's leaking at the end, you probably just need new o-rings. There are four turbo pedestal bolts, check the wiki here for a writeup I did on my truck. It will be the same process -- but a bit harder for your truck since the engine...

Injectors go bad for the third time!!!!

Is it possible that you had a bad harness, causing the injector problems? Maybe they were fried by bad glow plugs?

    Muffler or no muffler

Not sure about NM law, but on our side of the border, the turbo is a "muffler" so you can get away with straight pipe and still be perfectly legal. something to check for, anyways..
