    Hatch struts

Thanks for the replies. We now have to replace the struts AND the back window...don't ask. It's a little too cold here in Alaska to go without the back window.

    SES code

My wife's truck has had the SES light come on twice over the last couple weeks. Each time it was the same code P1248 (failure to detect boost pressure). The truck does not run any different nor does it "act up" in any way. I have it cleared and the last time it came back in a bout a week. It has...

    Replacment grille

We are slowly but surely getting used to beautiful Alaska. The kids think that it's great because there's enough sunlight for them to play oustside at midnight. I can't wait to go fishing. I do have something I need help with. When they shipped my wife's Excursion up here they cracked the grille...

We looked in Chugiak and will be looking in Eagle River, Palmer, and Wasilla. Maybe the members living in...

    Need Help!

I took it to a local shop today to get it diagnosed. The technician plugged in his Snap On scanner and took it for a spin. The only code he could get out of it was a code for the air intake heater. I had plugged it, per the air intake heater delete mod, and it was sending that code. The only...

    Need Help!

We are about to cross over the border into Canada pulling our 5er and my truck has developed a rough spot. At first I thought I just got a hold of some bad diesel, but now I'm not sure. It does fine under a load and anything over 2,000 rpm. When I'm just accelerating normally it hits about 1200...

Help-How to replace ball joints on 4x4 dually

Okay, so my husband is at the Hobby Shop trying to change the ball joints on our F-350 4x4 dually for the first time. He bought Moog balljoints but can't get the hub/rotor assembly off. I am searching on line but unable to find anything. The hobby shop closes at 5pm and we need this done today...

    Tire size

I have a 2000 F-350 dually with 235/85/16's on it now. I would like to go with a wider, not outrageous, tire like a 265/75/16. They come out to the same height, but wider. My major concern is the duals. Will 265's have enough room without rubbing sidewalls?

    all 5th Wheel Haulers

I have a Reese 15k and I pull a 32ft 5er. If I had to do it all over again I would go with http://www.trailair.com/ or http://www.fifthairborne.com/. I have talked to several owners of both and the air ride makes a world of difference in ride quality and the safety of the contents of your...

    Road Trip Questions

We are about to embark on a 4k road trip pulling our 32ft 5er. I already have a Banks six gun tuner, K&N filter, and an EGT gauge. I am looking at putting on a 4” exhaust, a trans temp gauge, and changing all fluids from the diff to the engine. I am looking for suggestions on the best bang for...

    Wildcat 29RLBS 5er

Good point about the 30A not running two heaters. I forgot to mention that. I have a friend in camp that has 50A and can't run two heaters. Personally I would think it could handle it. I run a seperate extension cord for the heater in the basement. If I don't use an inside heater I will burn...

    Wildcat 29RLBS 5er

Hose heaters are about 1" wide electrical heaters that plug in to regular 110v. They come in different lengths and can be purchased at WalMart or Home Depot. I wrap my hose and hydrant with them and them put insulation around it all.
