    Goal: Insane dyno number

Thanks, everyone; I especially appreciate the technical details needed to get to that power level. I'm hearing that the HPOP setup is the biggest hurdle for higher power levels; the rest is machining and upgrading with better parts (fairly standard practice for high HP applicaitons). My goal...

    Engine bay cleanup

One word of caution; Purple Stuff will stain your aluminum if left on too long. Don't know if you care or not, just thought I'd add it for a little more info. I plan on coating mine so no big deal.

    Power Steering Leak

Hey Guys, I have a leak that's very hard to locate in the bay; I have a general idea due to the amount of fluid thats coated the outer tie rod. However, with the amount and time it been leaking there's fluid everywhere. I've cleaned it once before but it slimed up within a week, making an...

    thought this was interesting

Strokepower, Being the eternal optomist, I believe the 7.3 may possibly be comming back, and here's why: Could Ford be considering multiple displacements, depending on GVW, for thier new engine? It's not unheard of; look at the GM LS family, same basic architecture with displacements...

    longer cranking times

This is a quote from the July 09 issue of Diesel Power: "Gilbert Garcia of Diesel Tech told us he sees at least one truck each week with a blown oil rail plug. The most common symptom experienced when an oil rail plug fails is a long crank, no start situation" Does your friend's Ex show...

    Dana 50 solutions?

Being basically a 60 housing, is it possible (or practical) to machine the housing to 60 specs so I can run the bigger internals with 35 splines?

    Goal: Insane dyno number

Thanks for the inputs. Being a streetable build I don't want to go too big with the turbo; however, with the setup I have in mind I could probably run a monster at the event and put the street unit back on in no time. My entire bottom end is forged and should hold (if properly tuned)...

    Slightly unstable at speed

Steering box was tightened too much and actually made the situation worse; I backed it off 1/8 turn and much improved road manners ensued. Still, something is causing the wander; maybe another engineering flaw Ford refuses to acknowledge? I have a single Pro Comp replacement unit. It helped...

    Gvw restrictions

Regarding those states, how do they check the GVW: door jamb sticker or registration. Mine's listed at 10k so I should be good.

    Slightly unstable at speed

Hello, everyone. I'm still having an issue with my front end and hope someone has the "magic" answer I've been searching for... Replaced nearly everything in the front: tie rods, ball joints, sway bar bushings, track bar bushings, stabilizer; I also cleaned and lubed both sets of caliper...

Who has the biggest/loudest setup here?

I don't remember his name, but 2 years ago at the Smoke Show in NC someone pulled up in a sponsored 550 sporting a 32" woofer in the bed. The pictures for that truck are up at the powerstroke.org site. This beast was insanely loud; we had the cops called on us several times.

    Painting Front Bumper?

How to Paint Chrome Wheels | eHow.com Found this today. Also, if you can find it, Musclecar did a segmant on painting chrome wheel last week. Same rules apply to any chrome plated metal on the vehicle.

    Gvw restrictions

That's my luck, though it's my fault as much as I push it. They really need to leave recreational towers alone. I'm shaving the badges before heading out; maybe a little stealth goes a long way?

    Goal: Insane dyno number

Thanks, guys. I asked Scott at Trucks Unlimited a couple of years back this same question; your repsonses mirror his. My 10k budget was just engine; supporting system upgrades are necessary evils on these trucks, even at stock levels. I was wondering about what would break first if left...

    Gvw restrictions

Hello everyone. My question concerns pulling over GVW through states with restrictions- AZ, CA, CT, FL, KY, LA, NE, NM, NC,UT. How strict are these states if I'm pulling, say, a 37 foot fifth wheel that is over my GVW but the truck otherwise pulls just fine? I've seen 3/4 Fords pulling 18k...

    Pulling the bed

Tbar, That reminds me; I also need to replace rear sway bar bushings while i'm at it. Good looking truck (I have a fondness for the basic colors).

    Pulling the bed

Good news!!! It was bad fuel causing my issue. I did the dummy thing of not buying from my usual stop because the fuel was almost $.20 cheaper; lots of contamination. A fresh tank, additive and filter cleared it right up. I've been planning on the Hutch and harpoon mods for some time now...

    Exhaust Paint help?

I actually moved back to Jacksonville last year. We lived in N. Davidson off of Hickory Tree Rd. You wouldn't believe what's been going on there. On 150 so far: A new Wally World and Lowes; on the corner of Hickory Tree and 150 a new Sheets and Mc Doo-Doo's where a ratty old gas station used to...

    Underbody surface rust---HELP!!!!!

Sherman Williams is the only place that carries it in my area, but you may be able to find it online cheaper. For the part numbers mentioned it would cost $22.35 for the Rust Mort 69504 (quart) and $69.85 for the Rust Shield 38101 (gallon). Here's the link for the article1997 Ford F350...

    Exhaust Paint help?

I want to see just how good the VHT is and see how well it holds up to a 6.4 during regen.

    Pulling the bed

Ah, then I have a problem with the mixing valve. I'm not getting enough fuel pressure and, at times, air in the system. It's progressivly getting worse, especially on first starts.

    Pulling the bed

Looks like I'll be pulling the bed soon due to pump failure. While not complicated, I do have a specific issue; namely, this was a Minnesota truck most of its life and I'm afraid the bolts may be rusted to the frame. The last owner also rolled in a parts store liner kit. How much fun is this...

    Goal: Insane dyno number

One of (if not the) first 1000 HP 444 using stock block and as many internals as possible and sticking with the HPOP set-up; drugs will be used (CNG and NO2). Proper tuning and combination of parts a must, including a John Wood full trans rebuild; nothing too crazy like common rail injection...

    Door Panel Removal

If you stand back from the door and look at the bottom of the panel there are two cutouts that look like they may be for screw access. The panel may also have those stupid christmas tree clips holding the door to the door frame; hopefully it just slides up like the older models. Sometimes simple...
