    Question High idle mod concern

    I used the BCPSW input. On my 2008 F-350, I used the BCPSW input for the high idle. I did not want to use the PTO input, as it will lock up the torque converter. I was not sure of the outcome of this. You have to set the parking brake to get it to idle up. Works great! Jeffro;tu

    Baldwin filter is orficed When I cut open my Balwin filter B-5134 to see if it was dirty, I noticed that it had a orfice in it to restrict flow through it. Maybe the Wix filter does not have it. Good Luck!

    Use a pipe cutter I used a pipe cutter to open my filter. It was installed on my 6.4 at 500 miles and I changed it at 5K. The media was clean as a whistle. I guess that is good!:clap:

    Good tires I have ran Toyo tires for year with no problems. I use them on my company and personal vehicles. The Open Country and M-55 are great tires.

    Got-R-Done I had mine done yesterday. I can not tell of any noticable change in the performance. Took two hours for a fifteen minute job.:dizzy

    You are right. Excessive idling is bad for it. When the truck is first started, it will idle up after 130 seconds when it is cold.     Oasis report You can have your service manager run a Oasis report on your truck to see what has been done to it by Ford. You should be able to call him with the VIN number. The recall about the DPF regen reprogram is 08B07.

    They say 100K I am not sure how long it will last. That depends on how you drive. Excessive idling will probably shorten it's life. I have only had mine for 10K and am not sure of how many times it has went through the regen cycle. That is what the reprogram is about. Ford say's 100K or more.

    Has anyone had their 6.4 reprogramed by Ford for the DPF regen display? I received a recall for that and a transmission update I was wonder if it works OK or if there are problems with it. Sometimes it pays to have paitence and wait until they get the bugs out. Thanks for your input!

    Question cold weather operation

    Ford Anti-gel I used a half bottle of Ford's Anti-gel (black cap) per tank of fuel. I put in about twice the recomended amount. I like driving my truck instead of working on it by the side of the road.

    -10 and no problems I was in Des Moines over Christmas and had no problems at -10 deg F. My mileage was down to 13 mpg from it's usual 17 mpg. It started and ran OK. It never would heat up fully while driving around town, but on the highway it would come up to normal temp. Good Luck!
