    Jerking while towing

sound like a tongue weight problem. If the tongue weight is too heavy, bags will minimize it, but if the tongue is too light the bags will help but turn it into more a jolt than a buck. I've also heard the front leveling kit will help some, but I have no first hand experience with that. Also...

How to Service Front Wheel Bearing on 4x4???

I realize this is an old thread, but I found it researching what shocks everyone is using.. Anyways, about the Dynatrac Hub Package. First off I call them Dynarape for a reason - I've had a front end built by them in the past  One of the biggest reasons to run their kit was not...

Thanks all, it has been grand.

Richard, You need an Attorney RIGHT NOW. This will haunt you for the rest of you life. Don't let them win because they are too incompetent to read teh few lines of information that separates you from your father (RIP). I know it seems like the easy thing to do is give in, but it will never end...

    New toy hauler Question.........help

they're called GoJacks and are great little devices, we use 'em all the time to maneuver full size vehicles around in the shop and for the paint booth... I think this is a far better solution than the "cargo bed" as it is a lot less hassle and doesn't take up the floorspace when you're not...

    Can't understand these young people..

use is not abuse. Some of us work hard and play harder. I've been working steadily and buying and fixing my own "toys" since I was 13 and had my first paper route. It took me 7 months to buy the bicycle I wanted, and I rode the snot outta it when I got it, but I maintained it. I continued...

    Trailer Tire Questions

they make trailer tires for a reason ;) LT tires are not designed for the long term side loading a "swaying" trailer generates going down the road. they will run hotter than they are designed to, and prematurely fail. In a picnh or as a spare, maybe - but I will never run a car or truck tire on...

Please help - need to tow more!

keep in mind that GCWR is the max weight properly distributed throughout the vehicle's suspension.. I'm betting the rear suspension and axle are the weakest links in the set-up... Do some research and see about springs and airbags. Also the CHP will not be happy with you if you're over any of...

Shudder when accelerating uphill on curve

like Scot said, if it's got a posi in the back then it needs friction modifier or the clutches will chatter and eventually glaze themselves and/or self destruct :)

    Firm Shifts

firm shifts are better for the trans. like bush said, slippage occurs during a shift. This generates heat and wears clutches faster, which leads to more frequent fluid changes... If there's even a remote chance of me having to accelerate quickly (on ramps, passing, etc) I use tow/haul. it also...

    Do I want the Impossible?

good luck finding out what you can and can't do...It took me over a year to get the information out of the DMV and CHP (I'm in CA). Here to do what you want you have to have a full blown CDL with doubles endorsement, and the first trailer HAS to be a fifth wheel... as for your question, are...

    Trailer requirements for IL

You need rear and front clearance lights mounted as far back and front as "practical" on the side. The fronts are ambers and the rears red. After a certain length I think is when you need the middle one(s), but I like them anyway on the fender like I think you did them to help when backing up.

    towing?

I use it all the time with anything but an empty trailer...so I guess anything over 2K. DON'T use it in the rain and snow ;) I also use it empty sometimes on those downhills that are just right to want to keep the transmission hunting gears without it.
