    Big Rig Fuel Tank Question

This isn't good enough. You need to have a roll over valve or equivalent so that when the main tank is full, the aux tank in the bed no longer flows fuel to it. RDS Aluminum makes a gravity feed kit that does this for diesel trucks; it's available from Northern Tool. Make sure to clean out...

    Update DieselSite coolant filter

It's been a couple months: Have you reached 1k miles yet and, if so, how did the filter look? Thanks, Al

Good stuff. Makes me glad that I replaced my antifreeze with Shell Rotella ELC about a year or so ago. Thanks, Al

    Update DieselSite coolant filter

The local Napa will have the 4070 non-charged coolant filters. Or get them at Fleetfilter.com for about $8 each +/-. Al

    Update DieselSite coolant filter

A coolant filter is less than $10. Change it out at 1k miles and be prepared to be surprised. And glad. Good luck. Al

    Question Fuel filter help

No, do NOT use WIX oil or fuel filters in your 6.0. Don't. The fuel filters don't have the water membrane separator on the primary filter. Look at the pic at the link you posted, no white water membrane. Stay away. And, on top of that, you can get the correct OEM filters for the same or...

    Question After Market Fuel Tank

That's the same exact analysis and conclusion that I came to for my '06 PSD. My aux fuel tank: http://www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.com/bigred/Aux-Fuel-Tank/Installing_an_Aux_Fuel_Tank_paper_2007-06-18_R1.pdf

PLEASE tell me I did NOT cause this!

Trish, I really feel for you. I have only one comment: Has anyone checked the fuel filter. When was the last time it was replaced? Did anyone do what a poster above suggested and look at the fuel tank pickup screen? Good luck and please keep us informed. Al

    Batteries..........

Do you have one of these? It's excellent for knowing what your electrical system is doing at all times it's plugged. I have one like this except it displays voltage to the second decimal place. Al

trying to find fuel filters-- WHERE??

If the 6.4 filters are anything like the 6.0 filters, then the last place you want to buy filters is Fleetfilter and/or Wix. Especially for the oil filters. ETA: Oil filters are the same for the 6.0 and 6.4, fuel filters are different: Page 76 for fuel, page 78 for oil...

Imagine rolling up on this when you’re in the woods.

Can you imagine the fun you could have if you snuck up on those pukes and then fired up a huge chainsaw and started chasing them around with it? I'd pay good money to see that.

Interesting tow pics: "Walrus Breeding Tanks"

The other trucks were used. They were pusher trucks with spare parts and, when used to push the main truck with the cargo over the big passes in Kansas, were computer controlled. That's about all I know on that.

    How to install a coil spring spacer on a 08 F-250 4x4

Happened to me too. I just e-mailed the person I ordered them from and he e-mailed back instructions the very next morning. Personally, without the instructions, I wouldn't do the install. It's for your front suspension: something breaks at speed, people's lives are at stake, it's not worth...

Sorry, no mercury. Knick, PM me your dad's name; I was out at VAFB for a month or so back in '04 when we installed two of these "walrus breeding tanks" out there. Thanks, Al

Interesting tow pics: "Walrus Breeding Tanks"

Actually, that's not too bad a guess, as long as you were thinking passive (i.e. no rockets) and defense. The pic looks like a MMIII out of LF-25 or -27, north base VAFB. MMIII's aren't the only thing launched out of north base.

Interesting tow pics: "Walrus Breeding Tanks"

Closer, but still no cigar. This was contractor-moved, hence no weapons material or devices - all nukes are moved by NNSA/DOE Fed personnel. We did have Feds invovled, mostly FBI, DHS and the US Marshal's Service, but mostly for coordination issues. I'm surprised no one's mentioned the...
