Butch- Bingo man. exactly what I'm trying to say. Data from yrs past is not really helping us on where we are going in these markets. 20, or 50yrs ago "global warming" wasn't an issue. (Still not, it's just propoganda for the commies). look at the rest of the world... only in America do civilians drive a F250 for a DD.. and as we globalize what do you think will happen? these Weenies won't sleep at night knowing hard working folks have F250's while Po' Lazy folk are suppressed. Let's face it... the road we are going on... trust me, we're on it. They now sell Smart Cars here in Tampa!! and they are becoming popular fast. those hippies want everyone in a smart car while they fly their friends in on a private jet for a basket ball game. Things are probably not going to be very good for a F250 owners (or anything larger than a Corolla) over the next few yrs. Nov will determine the road; Carbon fuel free in 10yrs or life as we know and love.

Just to make sure I'm tracking with you...

The crude oil will GLOBALLY stay higher than gas because some folks daily drive F-250s in the US? Talk about "propaganda"!!! Wow.... If only our economy were that simple!

I'm not getting in a pissing match here. All I know is in March 2007 I paid $2.35/gal for diesel in Tampa. Now it's $4.49-$4.79/gal Just over a year later. Take it as you will, I have better things to spend my money on, and right now a F150 is so much cheaper $/Mile no matter which way you look at it. And the Value of our SD's reflect the conditions. So if you drive around empty 98% of the time... No sense to have a SD.

If that's true, I'm not sure how you interpret that to mean diesel stays higher than gasoline. The "global market" price of a barrel of crude affects gasoline too. Supply and demand is what has pushed diesel higher.

Not sure I understand if you guys have facts that you base these statements on, or if you are just sharing opinions without a foundation of facts. For instance, have you heard any analysts say that diesel will stay higher forever?

Uh... I beg to differ with you. Somehow I managed to drive mine to work today, after swinging by Starbucks.

Funny, I just realized that I didn't even think about the price of diesel this morning. There was no diesel anxiety as I backed out of the garage...
:DHave you figured the cost difference per mile of STARBUCKS coffee versus DUNKIN DONUTS coffee:lmao

ummm... not quite. Diesel fuel is high because A: The EPA has mandated ULSD, which in turn adds to the cost of the refining process. B: expanding markets overseas mean less diesel fuel is imported (yes, we import finished product too, not just raw material) C: tax incentives to export bio fuels mean a good percentage of what's been refined here is exported to other markets D: raw material costs in the US adding to the lack of economic feasibility, resulting in lower stockpiles of fuel, therefor higher prices.

It's silly to think that you can use a diesel pickup of any make or model as a daily driver. With the increased cost of fuel now erasing any savings, coupled with the increased costs of maintenance vs gasoline engines, you deluding yourself into thinking it's worthwhile to own a status symbol any more.

World powers are buying American wealth, as we are viewed as a threat to universal government and currency. As soon as we are reduced to an economic Third world country, we'll be sucked into the EU (ECONOMIC Union)

STARBUCKS is a socialistic enclave with no regard for American sentiment. :stir

Dunkin Donuts just plain sucks. :tounge

Best coffee to be had in this town is actually at the topless bar out on the east side... :lmao

What he said!!!

A quote or paraphrase from T. Boone Pickens:
"Our purchase of foreign oil represents THE GREATEST TRANSFER OF WEALTH IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD". Its time to slow that down and either trade it back or keep it here. Globalization is WAYYY over-rated.
