    another member just had problems close to this truck dropped off then died although he could get his truck running again it was barely running but his threw a cel so he put a scanner on it and the ICP sensor went bad.

    yes they will start with just one bank even cold if the glow plugs on that side are working. If you are getting a lot of white smoke out the exhaust then you are getting fuel and its not the wire harness cause if its shorted out you wouldn't get any fuel. How cold is it maybe you should plug in...

    do you have a cel on by any chance? I don't really think it is a valve cover harness cause these trucks will run with just one bank of injectors and it just seems to unlikely that both harness came unplugged at the same time

    I don't think auto stores can read diesel codes if you know anybody close with and edge or super chip programmer they can read codes. I think you can buy just a cheap obd II reader even at walmart but I don't know if it will read diesels or how much they are. Hopefully someone will come along...

    running out of fuel like if the fuel pump was going out shouldn't leave a cel hopefully you didn't get water in the IDM. I know some sensors you can unplug and the truck will run in default mode but I'm not sure which sensors will do that and which ones you absolutely need

    temp has a lot to do with the mileage on these trucks with autos. When cold they don't like to shift into OD as soon as when its warmer so even 50s have an affect.     what does the fuse run? I bet its the fuel heater its very common for the fuel heater to come loose and short out about half way down the side on the drivers side of the fuel bowl is a wire connector that needs to be disconnected
