    Is the sound more like, "Chug-Chug-Chug" but really quick? You mention when it shifts, so how could the turbo be surging worse when the trans is shifting less than when you're up in higher boost constant heavy throttle? I also say it's the turbo relieving pressure out through the intake...

    Yeah, Amsoil. Pretty much all Amsoil is 100%. Just wanted an opinion from here. Like I said, it's not like Im switching to a lower viscosity on the multi-grade.

    What do you guys thinking of running Amsoil 5w-40 year round for our 7.3s?? Maryland climates, relatively hot summers then down in the single digits for the winter. 5 winter for the flow characteristics in the winter time vs. 15w, and it's still a 40 weight at 212 fahrenheit.

    2000 7.3 SuperDuty

    My truck seems to do this when it is in the lower 40s and below, accelerating hard. No coolant lose according to the overflow. I asked about it on another forum. Tempature? Humidity levels? My only exception is that I can't tell what color is it, if that makes sense.. plus I can't see anything...

    Loose oil filter?

    I did the old trick of turning by hand until it could not move without a lot of muscle, then I stuck the wrench on it and gave it a 1/4-1/2 turn more.. I got the infamous drip. I then cleaned off the filter, gave it about another 1/2-3/4 turn, maybe even a full revolution with the filter wrench...

    Quick question

    Some tips I know; You can drill or not drill a relief hole for the pipe tap's drill size, you're drilling into cast iron that has a fairly thin wall, it's not like you're drilling 1 inch deep. Assuming you're running an el-cheapo 118 degree buy it anywhere drill(s) - which is fine for the job...

    Just curious, you have an 06. The 06s come factory with an in-dash boost gauge correct? Whether or not is accurate is irrelevant. However, I don't know where the factory gauge reads from. Is the factory boost gauge mechanical on the newer 6.0s? It would require at some point a vacuum/pressure...

    On one of the tags, there should be a 3 73 in the tag somewhere or a 4 10. You'll see them once you read through the letters/numbers.

    uhh ohhh!!! white smoke!

    I get a little initial white/grayish color smoke in cooler weather (51 fahrenheit and below) when the turbo really spools up meaning my right foot is a little heavy. I only notice it when there is enough sunlight out on the road. Normal conditions?
