    ye ole CPS

If you are going to be changing your CPS, you might also consider this International part. It worked better in my 2001 than the stock Ford CPS. http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/ford

    Time to clean IC boots

You may want to consider replacing the stock hoses with Hump hoses ot a tube kit with Hump Hoses. If you use the complete tube kit, you can use Hump Hoses to connect to the intercooler as well. The Hump hoses are much thicker and have more reinforcement than the stock hoses and the hump will...

    Guages?

The install will be about the same for any gauges you choose. We like the Di-Pricol gauges as they are very good quality with excellent lighting. We drill and tap the exhaust manifold on the drivers side from the bottom and use a small magent to retrieve any chips that may have stayed in the...

    newbie exhaust question

4" is just fine and the amount of low end you might loose using the 4" DP is not enough that you would ever miss it. The benefit of the 4" pipe out weighs any loose in low end.

    WHAT ABOUT A BANKS KIT?

That is a great kit for your truck and the big Banks CAC makes a big difference in EGTs and power when towing. We have installed many of those systems and they work very well. Some will say Banks is expensive, but I think you get what you pay for with these kits because Banks has parts...

    Speaking of Clutches!

Another option for a clutch that will take the power is the LUK ceramic. Very tough and can transmit a lot of power, but they do tend to be a bit grippy and of course a bit expensive as well.

    Turbo on EBAY?

If your turbo is bad and you need a replacement, we have them with the compressor wheel already installed at a very good price. That one would be very difficult to install and control on your truck.

    I need more air.

If your truck has the insulation piece in the oval opening in the fender where the sleeve goes, you will want to remove that before installing the sleeve. Most trucks do not have this and you do not need to alter the plastic inner fender at all. The air the sleeve lets in com es in from the...

    Best Filter/intake setup

Ford AIS with foam fender sleeve is the best system for filtering and performance.

    Cold Fronts? with AIS?

If you install a foam fender sleeve so your AIS can also take air from the inner fender the cold blanket shouldn't cause any significant air restriction to the AIS. http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/ford_ais

Strange engine problem with a 7.3 in an E450

A bad load of fuel can cause low fuel pressures due to debris catching in the fuel pressure regulator. This happend to me some time ago and caused some problems with low power, smoke etc. Take a look here http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/ford_fuel I installed a pre pump filter and gauge in...

Stand clear while venting. !*#*&$#! Truck!

I picked up a bad load of fuel a few years ago and had all kinds of trouble with the fuel pressure regulator. Finally I installed a pre-pump filter and water separator. The stock system does not filter the fuel returning to the tank from the FPR so any debris in the fuel has to pass through it...

Better performing CPS for 7.3L Powerstroke

The IHC guy I have been talking to never said exactly the applications for this sensor specifically. Several months ago I had called him because I had an International part number that I had been told would advance timing and he told me that I had the wrong part number and should use this one...

Better performing CPS for 7.3L Powerstroke

I replaced my CPS in my 2001 some time ago with a new CPS from IHC which has made a noticeable difference in the way my truck runs and improved fuel mileage by about 1.5mpg. According to the IHC manager who supplies us parts, this sensor provides a stronger, cleaner signal than the stock ones...

    Intercooler

I have a 6.0L intercooler from a 2005 6.0L in my truck and you really won't notice any difference until you are towing. The bigger intercooler does help to lower EGTs and aid pulling power under loaded conditions. If you use a 6.0L intercooler in a 7.3L you will also need to change the tube...

    3.73 Rear End Swap

Have you tried just towing with the OD turned off? This should put the rpm about where you want it. Also you might consider adding a little umph to it by making some simple mods. One I have done recently and have been very pleased with is changing the Cam Position Sensor to a unit made by...

    Exhaust Pressure Control Valve

Big Joe, the EBV used as an exhaust brake is great for a 6-speed, but with an automatic you need to be careful. When the throttle position goes to idle so does the line pressure in the auto trans so even if the TC is kept locked up, you can still get slipping in the trans due to the low line...

    Power Elbow

I have the Power Elbow on my truck in the form of the Banks brake. I could tell the difference in performance with the elbow installed. Is it worth it is a wide open question. If you are looking for the ultimate in exhaust flow and performance from the exhaust definately worth it. It is a...

    intake?

Ford AIS The Ford AIS seems to be the best air intake available for the 7.3L. It fits like is is made for the truck with grteat filtering and air flow http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/ford_ais http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/air Bottom of the page.

    7.3 milege dropping

You might check fuel pressure. I picked up a bad load of fuel some time ago and it killed the mileage and performance because it fouled the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel pressure was low as well as fluctuating all over the place.
