No A/C at idle? compressor cycles rapidly, or stays disengaged....works at speed

you guys fricken nailed it. pushed on the clutch electrical connector directly behind the pulley and the compressor would engage and stay engaged. as soon as i let go, it would disengage or flutter. cleaned with acetone and reconnected, icebox all the way to work this morning. Thanks!!!!!!!

No A/C at idle? compressor cycles rapidly, or stays disengaged....works at speed

I hear what you guys are saying, and I'll check it out.... When you were having these issues, were they RPM dependent like my case? Thanks, Paul

No A/C at idle? compressor cycles rapidly, or stays disengaged....works at speed

woops, didn't include my sig by default. truck is a 02 7.3. I did wiggle the clutch connector thinking the same thing, but if it works fine at higher RPMs i was doubtful that would be the culprit. Thanks, Paul

No A/C at idle? compressor cycles rapidly, or stays disengaged....works at speed

subject says most of it. A/C works fine at speed, very cold. At idle, the compressor cycles rapidly (few times in a few seconds) and then just stays disengaged. No A/C trouble or work since I've owned it, ~3 years. Help? I'm thinking low charge? Paul

Help Needed It's Time for Brakes

I did Hawk pads all around and powerslot rotors up front. I was replacing motorcraft pads and severely warped ford rotors. Approximately 20k miles and no issues yet, still have great pad life remaining. Very happy with the stopping power.

    HPOP Leak, Non-serviceable plug?

excellent. I had read about the IH kit, and was leaning that way. I'm just worried about not being able to get the loctite loose...seems many have had the plug come out along with the threads....

    HPOP Leak, Non-serviceable plug?

OK, my HPOP is leaking (again) and I've finally traced it to the plug with the green arrow in the attached pic. Is this the venerable "non-serviceable" plug? I have read a bunch of old posts saying some have fixed it, others just replaced the hpop. Does anyone here have personal experience...

Help me pick a tire....BFG MT KM2, ATKOE, TOYO AT, MICH LTX M/S....others?

so...help me pick a tire. I got something like 20k miles out of the set of mastercraft courser at2s i put on last march, with a lot of chunking to boot. file those away under tires i'll never buy again. So, I'm sticking with the 285/75 variety, but having trouble deciding if I should go...

Boost Fooler or Boost Relief Valve?

ITP Diesel, L.L.C. I think problem with some of those systems that relieve boost pressure while you have your gauge reading boost from the map line is that your gauge will never show more than what the relieve valve is set at....which I don't like. Just get the AIH delete plug/boost fitting...

    biggest windshield wipers?

yeah, like i said, shouldn't matter. I could see it maybe becoming an issue at high speeds with lots of rain, but even then probably still not.

welds aren't bad. I'd plug weld those holes in that bracket you used though.

Boost Fooler or Boost Relief Valve?

I'd use one that doesn't release boost pressure, but just regulates what boost pressure the MAP sees, like ITP's. ITP's is popular for that reason. I'm also relatively sure the PCM doesn't consider it "overboost" until 22-25 psi, not 19. I may be wrong though. Paul

    biggest windshield wipers?

the more area you cover with the wiper blade, the less force the spring on the wiper arm can exert per inch of wiper blade.... Shouldn't matter though.

Ford Super Duty pickups are super for smugglers

yeah, the door/handle design really is bull doodoo.....but in the end of the day, locks are for honest people. If somone wants your junk bad enough, they're gonna get it. That's what insurance is for.

    Honest Diesel Mechanic

honestly, in terms of finding what is WRONG with your truck, a ford dealer would probably work pretty well. whether or not they will charge you a decent price to fix said stuff is unlikely. I don't know if Ford dealers will do it, but a lot of BMW dealers I used back in my M3 days would do a...
